If ever there was a movie that could loose about 45 minutes and come out 100% better for it, this is it. I loved the look of this film, and most of the performances, and I also enjoyed seeing a modern WWII film that was set in the pacific theatre, but MAN, those 'dream' sequences ruined this...

Well, let me rephrase myself. I find that type of movie to be overrated. The whole murder/mystery genre I generally find rather dull. And as The Maltese Falcon sits pretty much at the top of the heap as far as that kind of murder/mystery/film noir film goes, I singled it out as being overrated...
