Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

Vinny, Art can clarify or correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding that he has Milan bodies in two colors...the "honey" color that several of us have, as well as a brown called chocolate. I can't say enough how pleased I am with mine. It is the perfect summer hat, in my humble opinion.

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

Viper and Link, GREAT hats!! For me, now, the question is...what am I going to get next? I'm considering a montechristi with a Carolina blue ribbon. That, or perhaps another Milan. Maybe the chocolate color with a copper ribbon. Decisions, decisions...

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

I picked up my new VS Milan from the post office today and I couldn't be happier! I realize I say this every time I get a new work of Art, but it is my new favorite hat. The feel is wonderful, and it is nice and cool on my head...the perfect summer hat! Here are a few shots...

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

I just got a shipping notification yesterday...my new VS Milan is on the way! It should be here Saturday...I'll post pictures when it arrives! Come to think of it, I don't believe I posted pictures of my last Work of Art, either...featherweight Silver Mist with blue band. Looks like it's time...

    Justified FX Hat

Justified is set in Harlan, which is the next town over from me, but I haven't managed to catch an episode of it yet. From some of the comments here, sounds like it's just as well that I haven't. Edit: I just took a look at the Justified website, and while we are discussing continuity, I'll...

Hat Gift Certificates - Those Tiny Boxes of Delight

I just did a search on that popular online auction site after seeing this thread, and I was amazed to see some Stetson miniatures with "Buy It Now" prices of as much as $295! I learned of these neat little things from an old friend who actually worked at a department store in the fifties. She...

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

Welcome to the Black Cherry Club, sir! The hat is marvelous! I think you'll find that, as you wear it more, the black cherry develops even more character. Even on a day like today when it's 72 and sunny, I still wear the Black Cherry. However, I have a Silver Mist lightweight on the way from...

    Nutria report

How many pelts would you estimate you'd need to make a commercially viable run of felt? I would be fascinated by a modern day Nutria hat.

    Hats of the Depression

I realize that it is, perhaps, comparing apples to oranges, but I find it fascinating that, even in the bread line or unemployment line, gentlemen of the day still dressed like gentlemen. These days, folks who seek social services dress as if they've just rolled out of bed. I think perhaps those...

    Which Presidents Wore Hats>?

I am a big fan of presidential biographies, and recently picked up a couple at a used book store in Knoxville, TN. Truman and Eisenhower are among my favorites, and I was delighted to see that the cover photos on both books feature the Presidents with hats.

    Nutria report

I just ran across this... http://www.nutria.com/site9.php I would actually be very interested in taking a little vacation to go hunt the little varmints.

The nicest comment I ever heard

What a great compliment!! On more than one occasion I've been told that my hats make me look like somebody from yester-year who I respect a whole lot. I always take this as a great compliment. I would normally PM, but I don't believe you have enough posts yet for PMs...your screenname is from...

The nicest comment I ever heard

A few days ago, I took a leisurely walk to the local post office, and on the way back, crossing the parking lot at the local Natural Gas company, an employee that I've never actually met but who I've said hello to a thousand times over the years stopped me. He said "I've been meaning to tell you...
