Not really new but been away for tooooo loong it seems. Need to read in to see what I missed and what changed. Currently I still live in Germany, still like the Golden Age more than ever and am looking still for inspiration and funny and interesting things, discussions of our favorite era with...

What are the Oldest Objects you Own?

The oldest objects I own are coins like those I used as background with this (also old) watch. The two from the right side are ancient greek coins from south italian colonies. The upper right is a bronze Litra from Syracus and ca. 400 BC, the one below it is a silver Triobol from Thurioi and ca...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I couldn't resist this vintage Stetson. Guess its from the late 50's or early 60's? The felt is soo soft and its nearly mint, no dirt inside, the leather sweatband fresh and also soft. Just wow, I love it:

Do You Still Use "Golden Age" Products?

Mostly my wristwatches and pens. But I also have a razor of the 1950s and a clock that are still in use. Then, well guess what, a Fedora from 1957 and one from the 60s, cufflinks. I would want more things for the daily use from that era. I kind of like using things that are already there and can...

    Facebook in the Golden Era...

Also I geuss that's what the freemason lodges and similar brotherhoods and communities were for. In kind of way they were more connected with people outside the usual club, barbershop or pub, since these circles are connected and even in a kind of way a network of lots of people with similar...

Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

Regarding classic tank watches, over the christmas holidays I use this little fellow, a Hamilton Turner from the mid 1930s: A not very common style nowadays and while it is small, it still looks prominent on the wrist and looks definetaly more masculin with this cornered case and the art...

    Vintage Baseball

Hey thanks for the infos. Lizzie, it's interesting and new to me that it became this popular for women. Something different than I would have thought, cause in the movies you always see the daddy playing with the son. Also sports is in Europe more the thing for men, especially soccer which is...

    Vintage Baseball

I saw "the Pride of the Yankees" last night and it wasn't the first time that I thought baseball seems an interesting sport and I really would like to see and hear more of it. But since I live in Europe there isn't much about it known and also hard to find other enthusiastics or fans of the...

    Favorite Historic Buildings or Places

Regarding windmills, this one is only 4 km away from my hometown and also one of my favorite spots. Not only an interesting and still working piece but also the area around it with small rural villages, fields and forests. A very nice place for cycling and hiking.
