You're looking real good there, Kodiak. The mustache goes well with that look too. You may be too young to be familiar with this Jack Benny joke but " Are you going to hunt bear"? I'd like to swap out the bandana for an ascot, but you are definitely on to something there, my friend. You pull the hat off with your confidence. Well done.

Hemingway- I tried to style the bandana in an almost Quatermain-esque look (if you replay the scenes when he gets back from the hunting trip in the Granger film you will understand). My parents think it looks like an ascot, but it is pretty nice to catch sweat and stuff.
The hat is going to be cut down at least a bit. Probably an inch, maybe an inch and a half. The 16 inch edge-to-edge width makes it hard to walk through doorways lol
K- don't get the joke, though I am going bear hunting in three days. Yes the hat and shirt are coming along. And the moustache is an accident; I need to shave :eusa_doh:

I have an old Cabelas shirt that I used to design it. My grandmother made it, and she doesn't follow patterns at all (or at least very rarely) so I got her to do it using that shirt as a sort of go-by example. The fabric is unbleached cotton muslin.

Not a bad look. Now you need a Sam Browne belt for your canteen and sidearm. Whatcha hunting with? From a treestand or with dogs?
I'm taking a .30-06 bolt with a Weaver scope, but my dad is going too and taking a .300 Win Mag with Swarovski scope, so I'll probably shoot his at least once.
I'm hunting bear, moose, elk, whitetail and mule deer. Stalk-style, from the ground. It's in Saskatchewan.
I think I'll eventually buy a Sam Browne and modify it a bit.
