The Death of the Average Audience!

I am a writer/director (aka unemployed kid with big dreams) who has fallen prey to the discernment of the "average audience" however... there have been a handful of films in this new millenium that have expanded into the line of... *DRUM ROLL PLEASE... ART!

Like MK's signature quote "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."

The average audience triumphs when hundreds of directors over hundreds of films give in to the stupidity of their caliber, unfortunately, like a studio executive, the idiots are the ones who line our pocket books in this kind of industry...

But lets take a moment to acknowledge the greatest films from the 90s and up. I'll start (this is by no means extensive)

Goodfellas, Shine, Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, The Princess and the Warrior, A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander, Road to Perdition, the curse of the Jade Scorpion (watch it in black and white) Life is Beautiful, The Pianist and Annie Hall (ok so I cheated)

again this is by no means extensive, just a sampler.

Gee, I guess I need to get out of the past now and again. I've only seen one of those films, Jurassic Park, and wasn't too impressed.

You should see Curse of the Jade Scorpion. In my humble opinion Woody Allen is one of the single most brilliant writers, and he brings back the innuendo and wit of the great 40's films. It's an awesome caper.
