great to see that the show Blacklist is still going and the hats are still getting some action.

If you go to the official NBC site for their show The Blacklist and check out their shop, it is featuring a saddle (Brown) Stetson Mercury for sale. A stingy brim fedora with lighter colored ribbon.

Reddington has worn it in a couple of episodes, although his main hat still is the black Borsalino (you can see the name inscribed vertically in guild lettering on the ribbon).

The hats are one of the reasons I like this show, but Spader's silkily menacing portrayal of Reddington is the main draw for me.

Either way, The Black List is a great show, my favorite of the year. Now I just need to catch up on the last 7 or 8 episodes, after I gave up while on the road working 6/12s. No DVR with me, and streaming internet was spotty at times.

I can easily double that number.

I still enjoy watching Spader's portrayal, hats and all , but I'm a bit disappointed in the direction of the show. Too much 'chasing liz and the baby' and not enough blacklisters.

Most of them aren't my favorite styles, however, he wore a very nice straw early in the second season. That was a beauty, except that the brim was on the stingy side for me.

I think what I enjoy more than the hat styles are the fun little references to the hats. Kind of like what was done in the Indy movies.

For instance, in one episode, Red is taken hostage at gun point by a warlord and the young kids he recruited. One kid was wearing Red's hat and even though his life was in danger and he was bleeding, Red was most worried about the fact that the the kid was pulling on the brim of the hat.

I just like the fact that he wears hats. I don't always like his stingy brims either, but I did take special notice of his Panama hat.

The thing that surprises me is that Spader once said in an interview that he was never really into stingy brims, yet it has been said that he showed up to shoot the series with his own hat choices. Hmmm.

He must have a different idea about what constitutes a stingy brim. I feel like anything under 2-3/8" to 2-1/2" is getting mighty stingy.

Maybe he just felt this style fit the character best, because I've seen a few pics of him in personal life and his hats had really large brims.

I've been meaning to post this since last week, when Spader's character pulled off the "heist of the century" which concluded with him swapping a special penny (the key to finding the treasure) for Winston Churchill's Homburg. Couldn't help but be happy for him.

Charlie, I mentioned that in "Hats on TV" thread last week. Great scene. Then I went on a hunt to see if Spader and Churchill are/were the same size. Winston was a 7 1/8, but I couldn't find Spader's size.

I did find an article that stated Liz has a bigger head, though. [emoji4]
