To get or not to get?

Hey guys want your opinions on something. At one thrift store near me I recently found a vintage suit I believe to be formal wear but I can't decide to pull the trigger or not.

Label is Forstmann and I found a similar logo on Vintage clothing guild website that said it was early 50's. It has the amalgamated union tag with Red lettering and the large peak lapels are a great 50s looking cut. It is a beautiful satin peak lapel DB either 6x1 or 4x1 I can't remember but the weird thing was only the bottom button has a hole. (Doesn't the top button get buttoned on DB and bottom left open??). Also the two kickers are this: it definitely appears to be formal wear due to the style of the jacket and black satin lapels but the rest of the suit material on the jacket and pants appear more of a dark navy blue then black. Was this common back then?? Also there is no leg stripe on the pants but I'm confident they are definitely the matching pants.

Pros:
-Near Mint condition
-Red numbering on union tag label
-Large Satin peak lapels with great 50s cut
-Nearly my size needs minor tailoring

Cons:
-Appears to be a dark navy blue not black (Lapels are def black)
-No Satin leg stripe

I've been waiting for a vintage set of formal wear to pop up since I missed my opportunity at an estate sale a few months back but I just can't get over the dark navy blue and no leg stripe. I want it to be all or nothing you know? Am I just being too picky or should I hold off until something meets ALL my expectations not just 3/5??

Update: stopped by another thrift store about an hour after writing this and noticed a shawl collar formal wear. I happen to glance inside and see...you guessed it, RED numbers on the union tag!!! I picked it up for 39.99 a shawl collar label says Guild Crafted by Howard. Came with 2 black bowties in the inside pocket and a cummberbund. Also my size and with slight tailoring will look great! Also the pants have the satin leg stripe...now the question is should I still get the other one because those 50s peak lapels are just too good to pass up but do I really need 2sets of formalwear?? Are you just thinking out loud, or do you really need the Loungers to tell you what to buy? If you like it, if the price is within your budget, then what's stopping you? Unless you are investing in the market value of a suit, for resale, don't beat yourself up over small details. Remember, if you buy it and later regret it, or something else comes along that you prefer, there's always E-Bay to help you sell your unwanted purchases.

In the 1930s, the midnight blue tuxedo was actually more popular than black.
And something to keep in mind... at an indoor event under artificial lighting, a midnight blue tux will actually have a nicer appearance that looks closer to black to the eye, whereas an actual black fabric may have a weird, off-putting greenish tinge.

My sister who is a medical practitioner is a huge fan of vintage clothes. The Cavernous Showroom in LA is one of her favourite shopping stores. Whenever she has to travel as nurse in her scrub uniforms to watch patients of LA, she always visits this showroom for some shopping experience.
