Would "Raiders" have been as popular if the character had been hatless?
I think the real question should be, would Harrison Ford have been as good in the part without the hat? I don't think so. Many actors rely on a prop of some type to help them "find" the character. I've always thought that when Ford put on the hat before shooting a scene he "became" Indy. -

I bought the hat from NogginTops.com. The hat is by Christy's of London and is called the Havana on the NogginTops web site. I don't know if that's what Christy's calls it or not. It's hand made and stamped as such. They call it a grade 8. Not to sure exactly what that means but it's a higher... -

Grandfather My grandfather ran liquor during the first part of prohibition. This wasn't his full time job, just an occasional thing to earn some cash. He made up for it when he was in the FBI in the early 30's. He used to tell the story of being used as filler for a line-up one time. Naturally...- jharrell

Akubra Overload
It seems a bit stiffer than my Stetson Downs. That said it's not what I would call overly stiff if that helps at all. Yes, I feel some give to the felt. -
