My guess is that it’s a Panama weave, maybe leghorn, but is definitely not a braided Milan.

Everybody knows that little or nothing in Hollywood is real. The display included, I think. Maybe the suit (that can’t really be seen) under the trench is the original, but not the hat, and I’m not convinced about the coat. It’s difficult to be 100% certain due to the resolution of the film...
Wearing a real favorite of mine today, this late 1950’s Royal De Luxe Stetson. The raggy old shirt is a little newer; a late 1960’s Pendleton that belonged to a friend’s dad. I received it in late 1973.
