About to order Coppley MTM - Any tips?

Hi folks. I'll be ordering a Coppley MTM this week from a great menswear store, with a fabulous I house tailor. The gent doing the measurements is not only a wonderful guy, he's also very knowledgable and caring about the end result. So I'm all set on that side. What I was hoping someone could...

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

At least Cadillac is finally building some great cars again. This is likely the best line up of cars (the 2014 Cadillacs) that the company has ever produced. Wait til you see what's coming! The Cadillac of Cadillacs will be in production soon.

Got the suit ordered. Always a great time! Now I have to wait a few weeks for the first fitting.

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

How about referring to people as "ladies" and "gentlemen". On purpose.

    Chinese "Junk"

That is a very interesting point you raise. China and the US are almost at the point of economic warfare. Yet, the US allows the "enemy", as it were, to control the supply if an incredibly important, if not vital, part of the defense supply infrastructure, for want of a better word. The greed...

    Chinese "Junk"

I've actually started working on a plan to do a year without buying anything made in China. I've been moving in that direction, and while tough, it is doable. I work in an industry where precision and longevity are key requirements, and I've seen devices that are supposed to last decades...

Adding some 1930's to a modern MTM suit - Help requested.

One last thought. Is it worth getting into a battle over the..... Armholes!! This is likely the biggest difference between modern and vintage clothing. I just don't know if I am up to expressing, or even knowing, exactly what I want.

Great idea. I'm usually not that comfortable in them however. I tend to run warn as it is.

Adding some 1930's to a modern MTM suit - Help requested.

The thought right now is: 2 or 3 button peak lapel. High rise pants, single forward pleat. Cuffs on pants. Medium/dark blue (not black looking - definitely blue looking!) Pinstripe.

Great tip! With my extra pounds right now, I think the forward pleats, with a higher rise, will give me a nice, long vertical line. I'm thinking cuffs at the bottom to draw it all together! Time to go talk to the tailor today. I doubt I will end up with a true 30's suit, but something with...

    Project Drive-In by Honda

I remember the last time well, because I spent the day after cleaning popcorn, pop, etc out of the car. Ah, to be young and stupid again! :)

    Project Drive-In by Honda

I must agree with Tony. As much as I love the concept of the drive in, I don't recall the last time I really enjoyed the experience of the drive in. If we are looking at saving anything, I'd rather it be a 3000+ seat, balconied, single auditorium movie palace.

That is a somewhat dubious number. It does not take into account the engineering or where the profits go, which are the truly important numbers in the auto industry. In this case, its both Japan. That's one of many reasons why the US has a $60 Billion plus trade deficit with Japan. That is real...
