Aero Leather REALLY knocked it out-of-the-park with the goat used for this ANJ-3 IMO... ;) Graining-up nicely over the 5 years or so I've owned it. Purchased 2nd hand, it was in like-new condition, and I actually subjected it to repeated beatings with a wooden dowel to help with loosening it up...
I've been very happy with the boots, and have worn them often since their arrival. These came from Al's store at AE (branded "Rock Can Roll"), and are advertised as Italian cowhide. I have limited knowledge in boot leather, but these are comfortable, the leather quality looks great to my eye for...
Well, after getting past 3 1/2 weeks of daily wear, I'm about ready to call the AliExpress 30's aviator / half-belt a wrap for now... The coming years of normal wear will take care of the rest...;)
Here's the jacket stiff and new less than a month ago:
Today, during a fall outing in the...
Damn! Just when I had two to choose from narrowed-down, I noticed THIS sweet A-1 in UK-sourced calfskin...

A decent Black Friday sale may just push me over the edge for this over the other ones.. ;) Hell...
Right when you scroll-down from the description at the top, hit the "View More" tab for more info and pics....
Actually, the Heron / BK Aeronaut knock-off I pictured above came from that particular vendor. It was a number of years ago, but as previously posted, AE's policy of not releasing...
Yes, there's a heavy-duty covered snap to secure it... It wasn't an advertised feature, but I really like it. :) No other zipper inside. The D pocket is stitched directly to the front panel. EDIT: The zippered pocket is separate from the outer D pocket hand-warmer....
The jacket is just getting...
I've been known to wear jackets daily for 4-6 hours at a time, and some exclusively for close to a month to accelerate break in..:)
In fact, I've been wearing a 30's aviator / half-belt in Italian cowhide purchased from none-other-than Aliexpress for going on 3 weeks now / 4-6 hours a day. No...
Platon (former forum member from Greece who worked with Bill Kelso in the past) Dubow 27798 A-2 in Italian HH. Graining-up nicely since purchased new around 4 years ago :) :

Finally have two jackets narrowed down now..... :) Just a matter of waiting for a hopefully decent Black Friday sale to pull the trigger on one of them. ;)
Personally, after being a certified "jacketholic" for oh, at least 40 years or so now, I'm quite happy to have these inexpensive but still...
Speaking of Chinese leather jackets... I picked this one up from AliExpress a number of years ago, and have been very pleased with it overall (buttons are now a bit loose and need tightened). I especially like the grain developed over time. IIRC, I paid around $140.00 USD for this one then. The...
Little cooler this morning, but still breaking out in a sweat, and had to cut the pics short. Still gives an idea of what this Chinese 30's aviator looks like worn (jacket is stiff, and needs some break-in to relax) Personally, I REALLY like it! :) :
EDIT: I continue to be stunned with...
Agreed.... If I had received that, it would have left me a bit flat for certain... Now, the other in pony hide looks the business IMO, and really has me leaning in that direction... ;)
Thanks... I noticed that, and deleted the pic right before reading your post....
The pony hide looks VERY tasty indeed... I more than likely will go with the Italian goat...the color is quite nice. Now, I just need to get it ordered, and STOP looking at yet more jackets! LoL!!! (EDIT...
I'm so damned pleased with the jacket I purchased above, that I find my fingers itching to grab one of these two next :D:

Looks to be very decent Italian goat, and a classic vintage pattern:
Then, there's this...
First post here in quite awhile.... :) I've had my eye on this repro of the Real McCoy's 1930's Harley Davidson / Aviator jacket at AliExpress for a long time now, and finally decided to take a punt on it... (a $20.00 off coupon helped the decision along) ;)...
I measure like this:

EDIT: The above pic is from the tutorial, not my jacket....
If you are getting into a 46, I can't 100% guarantee that the shoulders won't be a bit snug. I'm pretty much a dead-on 44R, and it's quite comfortable.
These A-2's were authorized and designed in Japan some years back by Robert K. Morgan (Pilot of the Memphis Belle), and his wife, Linda. They...
I believe the pattern would work for you in the shoulders, and should be a comfortable fit if you generally wear a 44 R.. The one I still have fits me quite well, except for the sleeve length being a bit long. I have a new set of knits for it, but haven't gotten around to getting it done...
I regretted selling this one, and shortly afterward, purchased the last size 44 that Linda Morgan had at the time. The measurements are:
Pit-Pit: 23.5"
Shoulders: 19"
Back Length: 25"
Sleeves (a bit long, plan on shortening): 26.5"
Since this post however, the absolute best bargain out there...
