    Ammunition boots

    Just curious after watching a documentary about the Grenadier guards how the boots are polished like mirrors but the sole and heels are black as well. Is this because they apply polish to the leather sole to help waterproofing? Fine sturdy footwear but would make a nice mess of a dancefloor!

    Have heard that modern DMs are now made in the far east and that sadly, quality has suffered as a result. Does anyone have any views on this? Also, Solovair shoes are said to be superior and would welcome any opinions regarding this. Cheers
