I have a hoodie with a quilted lining from Abercrombie & Fitch that is pretty heavy and quite warm. As for long-term wear, I suspect it will not last as long as you would want it to. I also have a military-style fleece hoodie that, though relatively light weight, is pretty warm, and I suspect it...
That's quite a knock-off. I was initially struck by the colors...on my screen the distressed brown of the leather strongly clashed with what looks like a purple mouton collar. I know it's tough to portray colors accurately sometimes. Do others see what I'm seeing?
It does seem though that...
That is a super-nice jacket, the fit is perfect, and the design tweaks you incorporated work quite well, I think. I also find the havana intriguing as a color, and am really curious how it will look as the leather ages. It's also good to know I'm not the only one who sits on his sofa at night...
As Cooperson noted, buying vintage leather jackets is a minefield, especially if you are particular in your taste, preoccupied with detail, and generally trying to be a savvy buyer. Who among us isn't? If we weren't, why would we be here? Given that is how it is, some of us have made connections...
Yes, Langlitz made it for me. It's actually a modified version of their Columbia jacket. They're a great company with a well-deserved reputation for quality workmanship.
I had one of those back in the 1980s. It was navy and the sleeves were too short. As I look at this old pic, I have to say it did kinda look like a lab coat.
Just to be clear (and I know it can get confusing when several pics are posted), I think the guy standing next to Lennon in the first pic is Paul. In the second pic with Lennon that is of course Stu Sutcliffe.
That's a tough one to call. Sutcliffe and McCartney looked similar in some of those old photos. I'm leaning towards McCartney though, but curious what others think. Note that Lennon is wearing a leather jacket in this pic also.

I'm thinking this has to be the old jacket Aero's new Thunder Bay is based on:

I also think it's a short Teamster. I own a Teamster, and the yoke in the front, the half belt in back and pleats, which I don't believe the Stuart normally had, makes me think it's a Teamster. I also think it looks great on you, and although I understand you'd like it to be longer, think...
Here in Ohio the Highway Patrol has fitness standards that troopers are expected to meet. We just interviewed a former OSHP officer for a position where I work, and I learned there are even financial incentives for the troopers to stay in good physical shape.
I'm actually exploring repair options with a vintage police jacket I recently acquired. The leather is in fine shape but the liner and pockets need repair and/or replacement. I'm probably going to go with Great Leather, but my jacket was made by Passaic Leather and they're still in business...
I got this vintage steerhide police jacket on an auction site. It was made by Passaic Leather in New Jersey. It was listed as a size 50, which is my size, and to my relief, I think it fits reasonably well. The leather is in pretty good shape, in fact to my eye, it looks nicely broken in and...
The approach suggested by robrinay is a good one. As long as someone's behavior earns them something they want (i.e., a reward), it's likely to be repeated. Don't reward it, and the behavior should go away. For a humorous take on the science behind this see this...
