"Doctor Who," He's Back and it's About Time!

Yay! I'm so excited to find so many other fans of the Doctor! I can't wait for series 4 to start! Or at least the Christmas special!

    Question regards perming

Thanks for the info ohairas... I've been curious about getting a perm myself. I have hair with a lot of natural curl to it, but I'd want to try a perm just to get a more controlled, even look to the curl. The only thing keeping me from trying one is the fear of looking like a poodle! lol Tight...

    Vintage Lane Bryant

I saw the blue dress in this picture on eBay!!!! I fell in love with it, but it was a bit too big for me, and I'm not proficient enough of a seamstress to attempt to take it in to fit. It was so hard to let it go!

    low heel heights in shoes

Thanks for the lead, gluegungeisha! I do about the same amount of walking around the city/campus as you do, and my feet always ache after a long day in cheap flats or heels/wedges-- these look like something I should definitely try! I have bad arches, so its so hard to find shoes with good...

    Question regards perming

So, I'm afraid I am a little ignorant when it comes to perming. Does a perm always have to be all those smaller, tight curls, or does the solution just keep your hair in whatever size rollers you put it in while perming?

    Vintage Sleepwear

I am in LOVE with the Nick & Nora line! I got the greatest set of soft flannel jammies of theirs with sock monkeys! They're my absolute favorite pjs now. Plus, I got them as overstock at Goodwill for 6 bucks-- even better! And then I found the same pattern in a robe... I'm afraid I'm...

    Been dropping the pounds.

A month ago I started making little changes to my eating habits and diet to try and get rid of my pesky college weight that decided to take up residence on my figure this past year... ~Drink lots of water/tea ~Eat an apple/peach/cup of veggies, etc. before lunch and dinner to fill me up a...

    Bath Rite-Article from 1944 Finesse

*Sigh* Now all I want is a lovely long soak in a tub... too bad I'm tall and our tub is tiny! Maybe I can go commandeer my friend's bathroom for a while... she's got one of those gigantic old claw-foot ones... hmm *schemes ways to steal friend's bathtub*

    Vintage Doggie?

Asta was either on a leash or roaming free... he was a bit too big to fit in a bag! lol Man I love those movies...

    Turbans

Oooh, I was just thinking about turbans... I was watching It's a Date the other day and Kay Francis wears them practically every other scene in that movie, so I was pondering whether or not a turban would work for me... I get away with the bandanna/headscarf wrap on my more casual vintage days...

    Frustration with necklines

I too loathe the almost-too-short look of many tops, pidgeontoe.... So whenever longer tops are in style, I snap them up... But along the low-cut topic... I love v-necklines, and square and scoop necklines, and I feel uncomfortable in really high necks (you couldn't pay me to wear a...

    The art of a Belt

I LOVE belting an outfit! The skinny belt around the waist is often what gives my look the finishing "vintage" touch, as it defines the hourglass look of my outfits and dresses it up a tad too. My faithful standby is just a waist-length black leather skinny belt with a darker silver buckle...

    The Vintage Suitor

Not staring at my chest would be a great way to start... but I guess that is asking too much? [huh]

Target rules! Or...the annual repro clothing bonanza

I always have problems finding things at Target that fit properly-- everything always seems to run small in the bust... bah :eusa_doh:

    Across the Pond and Stuff!

I wanted to mow down all the little fashion lemmings in my old high school last year and when I visited this year for all wearing the same leggings/jean mini/long t-shirt/flats combo... all with big sunglasses and too many highlights... bunch a' bug-eyed lycra clones... lol

    The Vintage Twinkie

I had heard that Twinkies were banana flavored back then. Hmm, I'd like to try the new banana Twinkie, but I hate the taste of artificial banana flavoring... I'm sure I'd have loved them back before the war, when they probably used real bananas somewhere in the process, but nowadays, I doubt...

    Headscarf

I'm also a frequenter of the head-scarf with a couple curls/rolls in front... I seem to be doing it more and more often lately-- I'm getting really lazy! lol Welcome to the Lounge, StraightSeamGal!

    Spanx

Tried the panties/shorts kind in the Assets brand... they were nice, but I think I'd try them again in a size smaller, as mine didn't seem to smooth/hold in as well as I had hoped. Unfortunately, there's run in the waist portion, but I stopped it with some clear nail lacquer, and it doesn't seem...

    Animated Disney movies

Fantasia is seriously epic, I agree... I still hear random snippits of classical music and envision flowers pirouetteing on a smooth pond, entrancing goldfish winding around and around, baby pegasuses (pegasi?) taking flight from a nest, and hippos and crocs dancing a pas de deux... and I don't...
