Finally some decent pictures of my latest project! :eusa_clap As I mentioned when I posted my previous project, I wanted to make another of the same dress pattern with a sailor collar instead. Well here it is: and the back: I love that back shot, very nice picture of me. :) I...

    LADIES of the LOUNGE

unfortunately none of those work for our Diamondbacks, whose original colors were purple and turquoise like this pillow: Bit on the pricey side. Might go for a black ballcap and remove the patch. I really want one of those 3 fingered gloves though. *drool*

    Make or Buy? Your preference?

For me it's all about the style and look. I much prefer a good repro or home made garment to the actual vintage (which I would be terrified to wear most places for fear of destorying/ruining it) and it's hard to find Vintage 20-22. Plus when I make it myself, I can choose colors and fabric...

    Show us what you've made!

I actually made this dress back in April, but a lack of decent pictures prevented me posting. It's a modern pattern and the only adjusting I did to it was shorten the length and made the sleeves puff. http://www.butterick.com/item/B4797.htm?search=4797&page=1 is the pattern. Next I'll be...

I'm writing a book on vintage style....

I agree with Girl Friday... Hollywood rarely shows the true mix of fashion and style worn regularly in America (still true today). I'd love to see more of what people actually wore on a day to day basis. Basically go beyond the Hollywood/LA/NYC stereotypes to the core of America's fashion...

Are Classy Restaurants Lowering Dress Code Standards in Your Area?

I did notice though that Vegas being the showy place it is, a lot of restaurants had dress codes there. Too bad everywhere else can't maintain it.

    Anyone like me?

I have -no luck- when it comes to thrift stores. I wish I did.

    Anyone like me?

I have to avoid this place when I have money! It's soooo bad for my bankbook. I can live without a completed outfit, but I don't stop looking for things to 'complete' it.
