Gentlemen,
here I'm, after two long years of absence. Glad my post is still here and my account is still valid.
Hope to start ASAP new threads like this.
I dust off this thread.
Look what I've found looking for Miss Margaret Ann GALLIVAN O'Brien from Albany:

Look the bottom of the second column...
According to the font you've linked before, it could be a G (because of the "curl" of the letter). So it could be M.A.G., from Margaret Ann GALLIVAN O'Brien. Unfortunately she's decesead. I wonder if she has heirs.
I took a look carefully to the font you've linked.
If we consider the M.A.P. theory, the P is definitely not a P, but rather a G or a L or a S. That's because in the P there's a "curl" that goes down while in my ring the "curl" goes upward.
So as JudyBKM (where are you? We need you again!)...
Gentlemen, this is the best picture I was able to do (with the precious help of my lovely and patient girlfriend)!
The initials are on the MAP side (I don't want to influence you). Fell free to elaborate the pictures as many times as you want.
....by the way, the saddle...
Dear Judy,
first of all welcome on this thread! I'm so glad that so many people are involved in this case. :)
What do you mean with your sentence above? Because, talking about my ring, if the insignia is on the right/correct side, actually the initials are B.V.W. !!! (I'm pretty sure the...
I think one of the reasons that prompted me to love vintage things and vintage word was the curiosity of the stories behind each object, dress, hat, car, piece of furniture...
Everithing from the past is just a little time machine! Simply fascinating!
Dear David,
I'm sorry for the bad quality of the pictures. The 2nd set was take with my girlfriend (don't worry if you said wife. Hope she's gonna be my wife, sooner or later. But that's another story :) ) mobile phone with macro function. I'll try to take someone else.
For what concerne the...
As promised, here are the pictures of the inner side.

On the arch there's the name of the jewelers, but I can't read it. Beneath there's written "10 karat"
Here are the initials. On the left, as told by the seller, they are M.A.P. Now that I look better, the P doesn't seem a P. But...
Dear David,
first of all, thank you for your diligence in this adventure! :eusa_clap Glad to solve this mystery with you! It's gonna be great!
Then, but not least, thank you so much for the birthday wishes! I didn't expect 'em! :)
My girlfriend (still not my wife ;) ) bought the ring on...
I've just checked the list of 1945 graduated from your link.
Apparently there's nobody, man or woman, who graduated in that year which initials are M.A.P. You said that they leave school to take care to homefront or go to work: was a ring given to them also if they don't finish their studies...
I think classmates.com is reserved for people who graduated in USA schools. When I try to register, they ask me info 'bout my school, my year of graduation, etc. I'll take a look on facebook group, maybe it's easier. You can bet that I will continue the search! ;)
That's a great idea!!
My ring could be a female ring, 'cause I've very little fingers :o
The size is 7 (17 mm). The initials inside are M.A.P.
Let's start this new adventure!
The initals inside are M.A.P.
It could be a female ring (I've got very little fingers! :o ), because the size is just 7 (17 mm)
I remember I looked for men and women at Albany High, graduated in 1945, which initials were M.A.P. but I have found anything. I will check better.
Thanks to...
Mr. Tomasso,
I've already wrote to Edward Milne High some times ago, but no reply for now.
For what concerne Milne High in Albany, NY, the insignia (you can barely see at the top of the web window) seems different form my ring one.
