It totally makes sense that Cavanagh also had a 100. Have we seen one here? Thanks for the great info, Brad.

I wonder how many companies made a "100" full beaver hat. On these pages I've seen a Churchill 100, a Stetson 100, a Resistol 100, and a Knox 100. Do we know any other companies that made a 100? Did Lee? Or Champ?

Great New Stetson. Whoa $360 for a Stetson BENCHMARK. Must be somthing special! Wait...WHAT?

I always laugh when they say "genuine shantung"... its made of paper or plastic and that isn't very "genuine" to me!! LOL

Help needed to identify my newly acquired Stetson Fedora!

Even by the site you posted that hat would be late 50s early 60s. 3X means it is fur felt, but maybe not a whole lot of beaver if it has any at all. But I've never seen any reliable way to tell for sure. I'd bet you are right that someone took off the ribbon. Often Stetson put a self-felt...

    PORTIS HATS

So cool to meet someone who was actually ion the industry in the heyday of hats. I am curious about the gift sets. People call them "salesman's samples" today but what did you guys call them? I am talking about the tiny felt or plastic hats in the small box that held a gift certificate that...

    PORTIS HATS

I have seen many Portis hats on ebay. Never purchased one, though. Also found this.... Portis Brothers Hat Co. Portis Hats was a manufacturer of hats from 1914 until the late 1960’s. Started by Portis siblings Isadore, Arnold, Theodore, Lyon and Henry the Portis Brothers Hat Co. was based in...

    Stetson Europe...

It would seem to me that there hasn't been any real Stetson overseas since the original company closed down at the end of the 1960s. I'd bet everything with Stetson on it in Europe is either a contractor or shipped there from the US. I hope someone can verify my feelings on this.

Indiana Jones Raiders Hat Brim Shape

I once had a Fed IV and I can attest that the felt gets very soft and floppy over time. I have since sold it, though.

This is an interesting color combo. But can anyone tell if maybe this ribbon is a replacement? From this auction... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Vintage-Stetson-Brown-7-1-4-Fedora-The-Sovereign-/262369614651?hash=item3d16729b3b:g:hSAAAOSwEK9XAr5m
