The steel beaver felt that Mr. Miller at Batsakes used for the fedora he made for me was ordered from Winchester in late October. From what I can tell from Rodolfo's pics, it must have been from the same stock (and, I might add, I like the color immensely). To answer Anthony's original...
Michael: I would like to thank you for making such a great product and for providing top-notch customer service. The three hats you've made for me are all tremendous, and they are all regularly seen about town.
Hey, just knowing that the Hanely Hall was created for the college set makes me feel young again! Thanks for sending me the ad: it's about the coolest thing one could want to accompany a vintage hat.
My first Dobbs: A Hanley Hall model, in what might be called a light pecan, that I was lucky enough to acquire from Anthony during his recent blowout sale. I love everything about this hat: Its colors, its crown height and brim width, and, of course, its styling. And everyone take note: When...

I do think that Mr. Miller does go with his own instincts on his custom orders. But, hey! When someone has as much experience as he, who are we to argue! I think your hat looks terrific, and I would be extremely pleased with the results.
Yes sir! I have one Batsakes and three Gannons. I'd say quality is comparable. They both know their hats, but Gus Miller is wrapping up his storied career (60+ years in the business) whereas Michael Gannon is just starting out. I'm proud to own hats by both these guys.
