I am looking for an Akubra size 56, in a Snowy River, Stockman, or Down Under (no holes), in a dark brown color - Rodeo Brown, Fawn, Loden, Khaki, etc.
Thanks!
Greetings, all. It's been a long time...
This is a Fairmount fur felt fedora, size 7, in a beautiful dark olive green. It has a 2" black ribbon/bow and a black bound 1 3/4" brim. I was able to clean and condition the sweat, but I don't have the skill to clean the liner, and you can see some...
Two hats for sale:
First is a vintage 50's Churchill Ltd. gray stingy brim w/ wide black ribbon and black liner. Color in person is slightly darker, a dove gray. Excellent condition. Fits as a normal 7 1/8.
Next is a Lee Berklee model WaterBloc vintage 50's pork pie with a bound edge and a...
On Fox TV, the series 'Fringe'...if you watch it, you know the 'observers' who wear grey stingy brims. Well, I just got around to watching this weeks episode where there were many 'observers' to be had. In one scene, the hat falls of of one's head, and rolls to the camera. I caught a quick...

I have a new (worn once briefly) Federation IV standard in Moonstone size 57, with a special order RED LINER.
I also have the white one if you want to switch them out.
It has a generic Fedora bash in it, but you know how easily these are to reshape. I just haven't worn it as I thought I would...
I took the felt band-thingy off my Stacy Adams, and tried my hand at a ribbon and bow. I'm pleased for my first attempt, and I know what to do better next time. I need to make my knot wider and my V closer in. The color combination looked good to me until my wife said it was ugly. :eusa_doh...
[huh] I got this Snowy River off ebay. It has a thin ribbon that looks original, no liner, and an old style size tag. I'm guessing it's 'Sand' in color. When were they made like this?

Here is my latest acquisition, a vintage Bond beaver/hare. Has a nice fat brim binding. The perceived problem I have is with the brim 'cupping'. The felt is very soft and floppy. How can I get it to a 'flatter' shape? -Water, steam, pixie dust?
Here are some pics courtesy of my 9 year old...
So I'm sitting in one of my Anthropology classes waiting for it to start. I Always sit on the front row on the end. I had my Saddleback Leather bag with my Federation on top of it on the floor beside me, at the end of the table. Dude in the wheelchair rolled up to the front of the class to talk...
So I'm 6'3", 190 pounds. I wear a 44 long jacket, and 32-34w x 36l" pants. I have a heck of a time finding suits. I was looking at a couple of online places with good prices; Overstock.com for one, and for a 44L, they list the pants as a 39" waist only, unfinished hem.
Are suits sold this way...
well, since I can't get a Fed in Moonstone, (backorder until end of March) I'm on the lookout for a vintage. I'm looking for a light grey with a black ribbon, either a 7 or 7 1/8 that measures ~ 22" 1/8 - 22 1/4" inner diam, at least 2 1/4" brim.
PM or email me with anything. Thanks, Ron
I got a nifty little brown fedora with a lot of character off ebay I'm looking into-
The crest in the liner has a large english script 'L' and a banner that says 'IMPORTS'. Underneath the crest is J. P. Vanderbilt customized hats, and 'styled for Lord and Lord Detroit. The sweat has Beaver...
So my Akubras I've never been afraid to soak or steam to get a bash set in, but this Churchill stingy is another story. The felt is very soft but very dense. There are no side creases in it at all, and from the looks of there never were any. If I want to crease it, should I wet it or steam it...
My noggin is right at 22 1/8" or ~56.5 cm, regardless of haircut (which is short, even when its long).
When looking for vintage lids on ebay or other sites where trying them on is not an option, and asking for diameter measurement is wishy-washy, what would the buying experts recommend for...
