I called an old school furrier/tailer here and they don't repair leather anymore and did not want to do it.
Is there a specific needle size and thread gauge and type I need? I am unsure if the local fabric shop has what I would need.
Thanks Mike. I wondered if it must be possible to be done by hand so that is good to know.
The thing is, when I explain that a shank needs to be wound like a post, under the button, most have no idea what I'm talking about and have no clue how to do that. I'll still have to send the jacket...
I need some help and want to find out where I can send a jacket to get a button reattached. I caught one of the cuff buttons of a Rainbow Country jacket on the edge of my car door and it pretty much tore it off the jacket. The thread did not pull through the leather at all but the button shank...
Wrong heel strike. I ordered a Quabaug heel since they are not as tall as a Vibram heel strike. I even emailed them frequently to make sure. Baker did their part. Wesco dropped the ball. Stitching is kind of sloppy also.
Mine showed up today after waiting over a year and half. Wesco f@*ked things up so the boots will have to go back to Bakers. Probably for a refund. What an utter disappointment. Why did Bakers not even check the boots against the order to make sure they were correct? This could have saved...
I ordered black horsehide lace to toe job masters Jan 7, 2022. I just received my ship notice from Baker's today. Two days ago I emailed Baker's saying to cancel my order and refund me if my boots have not shipped from Wesco yet. At time of order it was around a 14 week wait.
For Sale is a like-new, pair of White's 300 Oxfords in brown roughout. I waited forever for these and they are just a bit wide in the heel for me so I have to let them go. Worn around the house and lightly broken in. The half slip makes these a real bugger to break in and most of that hard work...
Very nice. Wish this was a medium.
I have tried these deerskin shirts twice now in the past couple years at The Flat Head Osaka shop. So nice and yes, someone should buy this. Great shirt and great price.
SOLD
I am sad to see this go and if I could have stretched my arms an inch and a half I would have kept this wonderful jacket. I hope the new owner will enjoy it.
For sale is a nearly new Freewheelers Journeyman in a rare, Olive Drab horse hide with a moleskin lining in the body and sleeves equipped with storm cuffs. The sleeves are way too long for my short little arms so it is up for sale. This is more brown than green but still has that olive wash to...
For sale is a black, Thedi cow hide belt with a nice silver buckle. Buckle has a strange tarnish in spots that does not appear to be a finish peeling but discolouration. I tried removing it with no luck. I have not worn this much and have too many belts.
Tip to buckle centre - 40" (102 cam)...
