    The Last Ride

I'm a huge fan but if this is truly based on Hank's "Last Ride" it really looks like they missed the mark. Hank's condition at this time was much worse than what they're showing here but I guess I won't be able to resist watching when this comes around. I highly recommend Colin Escott's book if...

    50 Unexplainable Photos

A few days back while searching all things Hank Williams I came across this one. Could have been taken in church of course but is the lady on the left is looks to be dressed as a flight attendant? As for the lady on the right I just don't know.

Were there no 6'2" people born before the 1950's?

6' 3" about 215 lbs. Yeah forget about finding vintage clothing that will fit. The only thing I ever found was a '40s overcoat but that's because it was designed to fit over a suit. Ditto for modern leather jackets. I once sent my measurements to the Aero rep on Ebay and he told me I must...

Great story dob and as far as uncles go you sure got yourself a winner! If you lived in Woodbridge then more that likely you road to the Front Royal/Winchester area, real nice up there. I live about 100 miles south near Staunton.

    Show us your motorcycles!

Thank you dob. It's a 790, the newer models are 850. They also now have the 1500 Thunderbird. Then there's the Rocket which is a whole other story. Rides great. I looked at a lot of bikes and feel like I got one of the best deals out there far performance, price and looks. I live in the...

    Motorcycle Jacket

You may want to take a look at the Commander from Fox Creek Leather. Similar to what you're looking at but you will have to do the distressing. I ordered one but sent it back do to sizing which was a little too small. I may still go ahead and try the next size up. Real nice jacket though.

    Dialects/Accents in the Movies

Sometimes I think the Brits do a better southern accent than we do. But probably the 2 worst accents of any kind I've ever heard: Kevin Costner in JFK Kevin Costner in 13 Days Is there one I missed?

New Ken Burns series this fall on PBS Prohibition

If you have access to The History Channel keep an eye out for The Black Blizzard. It's the best Dust Bowl documentary I've seen and I think as good as anything Burns has done in recent years.

    Needing help/suggestions with Vintage Eyewear

To answer your last question, my insurance picked up about 75% of the cost of the Shuron frame which suprised me, I was expecting 0%. All I had to do was fax them a receipt. I was a little hesitant about mail ordering eyeglass frames do to sizing etc., but my experience with Shuron was...

When does the "Golden Era" start and end for you?

Mine would start with The War of Independence but to be a little more in line with this thread, I would say McKinley through Kennedy.
