Happy birthday to me! -
Sorry to anyone else who was watching it, but I was so happy to find a swirl in a colour I'm likely to regularly wear. I do love my flowery one but it spends most of its life in my wardrobe despite being a gorgeous fit.
I've messaged VoH to see when overalls will be coming back in stock as everything is obviously very summer focused at the moment. I loved the pair on Fleur's blog, the fact she found them long in the body (a problem I also have) and being able to go try them on would be fab
Ooh those Allure ones are exactly the kind I'd love. How cheeky to be having 2-3 months wait time just when I want something!
Also very tempting to get Freddie's when they're half price, I mean I could get two! But the allure style is more what I'm after. The Freddie's ones don't look like...
Well its nearly birthday time again and I know that question will soon come, but what am I after? Truth be told I'm not sure yet, but its definitely going to be vintage related this year, and one of my thoughts is something I've been after for a while, a cute pair of overalls, 1940's repro or...
I've so enjoyed this thread, having been tempted by toprunway for quite a while. Its my birthday in August so now could be the time to start dropping hints :-) My main concern, along with fabrics, is sizing. I know you've all said you've been really happy. I guess I'm just paranoid I won't...
I've found being patient is the key to finding vintage bargains. Things always come up if you have the time at charity shops, car boot sales, etc. And for day-to-day I'm another one for prowling the high street. There's been some lovely bits around in recent years that are 50's inspired.
Thank you for all your viewpoints. I honestly did search for fur topics and it came up with nothing found?
I went back this morning and the coat was still there, so taking it as a sign (any excuse) I bought it :-) Now having it home I've had a better look. Without taking anything apart I'm...
Hi all,
Not posted for a while. Not even lurked. Its so cheeky when real life gets in the way!
I was in town today, and in a charity shop came across a lovely 3/4 length Windsmoor coat, which may or may not have any vintage. It was 100% wool, grey, fitted me beautifully, was in great...
ha ha we can't blame you. At least I know you'll love it and wear it which makes me feel much better.
I didn't end up bidding at all, so I'm not to blame for pushing the price up either :-)
Wasn't me bidding today, I've been in town and today's went too high for my tastes too. The other two on there from the same seller also seem to be sky-rocketing. Its a shame as the one that went just now would have got a lot of wear from me, I loved those colours
Ooh I've really enjoyed reading this thread from start to finish. I've wanted a pretty compact for quite a while now, but gave up on the idea after the local estee lauder 'orange lady' looked at me like I was bonkers when I started speaking about it.
I should learn not to listen and just go...
There's no shame in that lol. I'd love to be paid to dress up like my favourite fictitious characters! Or just an excuse! I might choose Gilda before Glinda though. That said I do get paid and have an excuse to dress up like Gilda, I just can never find the perfect dress!
Thank you everyone, you've been so helpful. I was worried this may have been a topic that's come up many times before. I know there's nothing that can compare to trying an item on, but then the price tag in shops also often reflects that.
I'm now suffering from that awful thing where when you...
I think there is some sense to a lot of the things he has to say, but I'm sceptical of any proven 3 month programme that pretty much says it can guarantee you'll get pregnant. Doctors can sometimes be guilty of suggesting ivf when its not needed, especially here in the UK where you're only...
Apologies if this has been posted before, but a brief search didn't bring up what I'm asking
With two little people I'm getting less and less chance to go out shopping for vintage clothes (have to travel to London as there's nothing locally) so I'm starting to be brave and try ebay and Etsy...
Indeed! They are such a beautiful cut and so comfortable, its not surprising there are so many of us out there hunting them down. As has been mentioned before though, there's plenty around at the moment, about 4 on Etsy at last count. But, I'm in no rush to collect them for the sake of it, if...
Oh I would have loved that colour and have birthday pennies to spend. Ah well
Did anyone here win the red one with appliqué flowers at the weekend? It went too high for me but would love to hear it went to a good home with someone from the forums
I know plenty of people who would think 20 pairs a very low number, and not many of them are exactly fashionistas. I probably own about that many too and don't consider myself a shoe person (I'm trying to remedy that in recent years)
I think it may be your friend that's the odd one
