1930/1940s golf outfit

Ladies,

I have made a 30/40's golf outfit and now just need to find the socks/stockings for it. The outfit is a pure white linen skirt and a sheer white top with my monogram in red and blue. I found a picture from the 1930s

of argyle stockings used in the outfit.

So, I have three different options for knee socks/stockings. If you ladies wouldbe so kind as to weigh in with your opinions, as I cannot make my mind up myself.

To wear with white, I would pick the ones that are the lightest in color. Like a white/beige would look nice.

Have you found any argyle socks/stockings in those colors? Those are the colors I wanted origanally but, could'nt find anything.

What about the Chevron pattern in natural/white?

These argyle stockings are made by Jonathan Aston. They are no longer stocked at the site I found, but you may be able to find them elsewhere online.

Also, maybe consider a knee-high sock instead of a thigh-high or tight. I imagine that could be period correct and it would probably be easier to find the colors you want. My boyfriend has a great pair of argyle socks that are cream, light yellow, light blue and light pink.

Well it's ONLY April 16th. That leaves you a full 6 weeks until you need them. It's not going to take 3 weeks for an item to get to you, even from the UK!

I think I am going to have to go with a knee high sock instead of a stocking. Has anyone seen red/blue/ white argyle knee socks? I was thinking since my shirt has red and blue on it pull those colors out.

I did'nt see you post until a minute ago! Thanks for that link! And the best part the socks are on sale.Yay for sales! I found a good color combo its the : khacki and white socks. I like how oyu can pick what color the knickers are so you can match!
