I know that it is a while since you posted this thread but if you are still interested I have a Federation and its dimensions are for a size 57
crown is 6 inches to the top of open crown. Crown is straight not tapered.
brim is dimensional cut i.e. narrower at the front/back
front/back 21/2 inches
sides 23/4 inches
I always thought a dimensional cut was narrower at the sides but I guess I must be wrong

The dimensional cut on a Akubra Federation should be narrower on the sides since it is a replica of the Indiana Jones fedora. If your is otherwise it's a factory screw-up. You should contact the company you bought it from and let them know, you should be able to get a new hat that's cut correctly.
