Book... "Unexpected: 30 Years of Patagonia Catalog Photography"

I'd think that the early years would yield some photos of interest to this group. I haven't seen the book yet, just some excerpts -- and the old ones of those look dandy.

That Yvon is (still) some dude! Lots of innovations in both tech and culture from him.

I modeled my own OYB catalog/media effort after Patagonia in part...an Everyman's version. I've always liked their catalog except for the helicopters and exotica -- which removes about all of it -- but there is sometimes a little panache that persists. Rich kids hanging out in 3rd world countries is a limited scene, for me. As is extreme/danger sport (with its -- escaping from? -- rich parents bail-out option). But hanging out isn't so bad. OYB just does it mostly nearby, for pennies on the dollar. And of course everywhere is local for someone.
