Hi everyone
This is my first post .
Iv'e recently obtained a B series Dobbs MA-1 jacket which i absolutely love. It has the usual wear to the cuffs and to the collar and some pink staining from the zips but its just so cool.
on inspection on the inside pockets i found a name, Maj J E FERNSLER and a number A0387338.
I would love to know more about the officer who was issued this jacket ie was he a pilot , ground staff etc but ive no idea how to go about it. I understand alot of information will be off limits but i loved to know just a few brief facts about him . any advice would be appreciated.
One other question . The knits are very faded and moth eaten in places --- should i replace them or leave them and also what would have been the original colour as they look like a washed out grey.
Thanks everyone
