Allow me to introduce myself. I am the author of this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/History-Mens-Fashion-Dressed-Wearing/dp/1844680371/ref=pd_sim_b_12
which a member of the family that owns James Lock & Co recently told me (quite out of the blue), has boosted their hat sales. It is available through all the usual outlets, including amazon.com and bookdepository.com
and I also run this blog: http://thenakedapegetsdressed.blogspot.com/

Shortly, I shall contribute something here too.
Big Daddy.

That is pretty interesting. I hope then to buy the book sometime soon. My passing interest in men's fashion gained more momentum with my introduction to hats, and the problem and opportunities opened up by "the need to outfit," which I never thought worthy of consideration before. Now I am interested in rules of fashion and the roots of fashion, not only to avoid looking underdressed when necessary, but to avoid being overdressed, as we would all admit is possible. Anyway I look forward to reading it--and if I have a question, can post it here with the possibility you may answer!

What is really of interest is how it evolves in reaction to world, national & even local events. The memes it broadcasts to others of the same culture. How it both filters from the street up (think Hip-Hop) as well as from the Aristocracy (Think Duke of Windsor, Edward VIII ) down, tweaked to the tastes of the wearer or wearers s/e group.
