Mid-60's cuff width and taper

I noticed on the new "skinny" suits that if your wearing a 32" waist the cuff is very sixties on the pants. Unfortunately at 50 my waist has expanded to a 38 and on those pants the cuff is a bit wider and does not have that early 60's look to me. Does anyone know what the average cuff width was on suit pants in the early to mid 60's. I was looking at a picture of the Rat Pack where the pants weren't all that narrow in the thigh and calf but quite narrow at the ankle...
