Have any of you read the book 'Phantom Warrior?' I saw it in a bargain bin at Walmart, figured what the heck, and bought it. I was pleasantly surprised to find an extraordinary story of courage and heroism.
The book is about Pvt. John McKinney, a backwoods boy, who single-handedly held off more than 100 attacking Japanese. I was amazed that with all my WWII reading that I had never heard of this amazing hero, sort of the Sergeant York of WWII.
