Real nice Black Vintage Stetson in size 7 3/8. Measures 8x6 1/2.
Felt is excellent without flaws. Has new roan leather sweatband and contrasting charcoal grey vintage crown ribbon,wind cord and brim binding. Brim is 2 3/4 .
Original Liner is clean.*** This was a homburg.

I can never remember where to find that guide about width vs length and how it is used for circumference. How close does this get to 23 1/4? Could I stretch it to this?

It appears to be black. Correct?

In saying "vintage" does that mean it dates back to before Stetson began using powder in their dyes?

Blackthorn, it is black but not a jet black , it contrasts really nice with the grey ribbons. As far as size I am a 23 1/4 and this fits fine, I left the seam in sweat partially open for comfort .
As for other qs regarding dye I don't know answer to that

Just to add for sizing if you like a looser fit then this hat might not be for you as its more of a form fit.
I wear a 7 3/8 LO and because this hat has a tall crown and a straight profile it fits nicely.
