Stiff fronted collarless evening shirt

I am sure there are already threads based on this subject, but I would just like to know if there is any other place to acquire these shirts, rather than ebay, which despite being amazing has the fact that happening upon such a shirt would be rare, or because of the exchange rate, rather expensive English shirts? I did get one off of ebay, and I will make it do, but it is not as white as I would like it. Or, does anyone have suggestions for cleaning and hopefully brightening at least the front bib of the shirt?

You might find that a good laundry could do the trick for you (in terms of whitening the shirt); alternatively try a boil wash? I've had good results by scrubbing with laundry soap and others have recommended soaking in Napisan (yes, really), or sunbleaching in the traditional manner.

Stiff-fronted tunic shirts are available from a number of Jermyn Street makers but they tend to be in the fifty to ninety-five pound range. Alternatively you could try some of the firms specialising in supplying mess dress to the British army or costume retailers:
