Vintage 1930s Belted Back Suit Jacket - Great Windowpane Pattern !

Just put up on eBay: a vintage mid 1930s belted back suit jacket (which could easily be worn as a sportcoat). I'm not selling it, but I saw this coat in person several weeks ago -- it's a beauty!


About a size 37-38 R. If I were the buyer, I'd remove the metal buttons (which aren't original, anyway) and replace them with dark blue plastic or corozo ones.

Absolutely. I imagine that the seller is showing it with blazer buttons to distance it from the dreaded orphaned suit coat.

The seller found the jacket with those buttons already sewn on it. At some point in the past, someone else added those buttons -- probably for the reason you suggested.
