Ideas on Highwayman order

I am entertaining idea of ordering my second jacket from Aero. My first jacket was black FQHH 50s half belt. This time I am thinking Highwayman in brown FQHH. I am trying to decide on bi-swing back vs. standard and zipped vs. standard American style sleeves. What do you think?

I don't ride so for me its not necessary to have bi-swing back - furthermore I am a bit broad shouldered and a bi-swing would look "too much" for me.
All of my jackets got the American style cuffs - it complete the look and I love how the cuffs looks/wrinkled after a while - specific in FQHH.
Zippered cuffs would look for me like a bike jacket.

I just ordered a Highwayman with zippered sleeves - I think it looks better than the standard Highwayman cuff (and with the zipper sleeves you have a little more control over "airflow" so you don't need the knitted cuffs which I do not like).

The Highwayman is a very full jacket already (in fact I size down a full size from the 50's Halfbelt) so I think the bi-swing back is not needed.

Concur with the above gents on the bi-swing back, I don't think it's necessary with the Highwayman. I've also got a zipped sleeve Highwayman on order. I was very taken with the sleeves on GriffDeLaGriffs jacket which he documented well here. Worth checking out.

If you take too many aspects from other jackets, it's no longer a Highwayman. Slight changes don't really matter though. Bi-swing with FQHH adds weight and bulk. Be forewarned.

Well there is an original zip-sleeved version of the highwayman, its at the bottom right in the motorcycle section at Aero.

Um, all he said was maybe adding a bi-swing to the jacket. Thats one change.
Its still gonna be a Highwayman IMHO.

And in you opinion, it is. Just like an A2 isn't an A2 (with concession to modern issue) with a hand-warmer pocket. I'm just more traditional I suppose.

I looked at some highwaymans with bi-swing back and i kinda agree with you.
There is a certain look of the yoke and whole back when it is plain.

But I dont really think it matters so much about authenticity in this kind of jacket.
I actually didnt know the "Highwayman" as a label was somethig that could be compared with an "A2"
but I have seen the term elsewhere so thats how little I know

No, really, it doesn't matter I suppose. I just think since we talk about jackets based on the name, that the more one deviates from it, the less it is what it's called, within reason.
Think of it this way, you go to sell a jacket, and the potential buyers get hopes up, only to be wondering why this jacket is so different from what they think it is...
But not worth arguing - get the jacket(s) you like and how you like them!
