Al, thank for your nice comments. Those brims can be up to 4 3/4" wide and remain flat.

Mike, thank you. I agree, the huaso's hat is beautiful, particularly the straw hats.

Interesting the Argentine Gaucho's hats tend to be more felt and a smaller brimmed.

Al, what an incredible experience for all. The actors and the parents.

hatophile, Argentina is such large country that there are about four different "typical" hats worn. In the northern areas the hats are similar to the huaso's felt hat.

I have been told that this is from the southern area, but north of the pampas.

This one is I believe from the pampas region.

Those are wonderful, Al! Absolutely professional shots. The kids and their families must really appreciate you putting that disc, etc., together for them. Congrats again to Ryan and yourself.

I've seen those South American hats before [online], and believe they had regional names as well, "Sureño and Norteño." I've gathered that they have always been, traditionally, authentically, made from wool. They are very cool.

Out dog walking in the warm March weather. We set records yesterday with high temps and will have high temps of 60's today. Red Baracuta and 50's Stetson Stratoliner steed me well in the warmer temps.

Best, Eric -

Al; Thanks for sharing your family’s rich experience. By all visuals the performances must have been a success. Congrats to the parent!

BR; Quite the pics sir. You winter in an area that is rich in ancient history and traditions. The contrasts between your summer digs and the winter digs must peak your curiosities.

Best, Eric -

I went to Oaklawn at Hot springs over the weekend for my birthday.
Here is a shot of me with my 2 kids.

While Oaklawn is known for its cornbeef sandwichs, I had a plate of these!
Man they were good!!!

What a hoot (Gibzonza)! I'd really like to see a shot of you with that in the perspective of a prime lens. The 'wide' angle is really pulling on that brim. And, truth be known, I'd like to own one of those someday.
