With the height on the crown, personally, I'd go with a 2" black ribbon/bow and use a diamond crease for a William Powell look... but this looks great as-is!

Just seeing yours makes me want to get an off-white hat for myself...

Looks more like a lid that will get serious Josh noggin time now! Good work! You're really nailing that 30's look....

I was out doing yard work too. Big winds yesterday tottered our pergola. I built it for this wisteria 25 years ago. The stem was the size of my pinky when we planted it. Took eleven years to get flowers. At that time, the trunk was the diameter of my wrist and it's growth had snapped the pergola in a couple of places. Now the trunk is the size of my leg and rigid enough to support the pergola, whose cedar uprights have mostly disintegrated at ground level.

There is a parable in there somewhere.

Very nice.

Thanks!

Josh, you are a talented guy with a discerning eye for hat style... fantastic work.

Thank you very much, Alan!! That means the world to me!

I was contemplating using a black ribbon on this one. All of my hats have black ribbons, so I thought I would break it up a little. Now I have to buy a tie to match the copper ribbon. LOL. Its my first true off-white hat and I am loving it. I might have to buy a couple "Bone" felt bodies from Winchester now to make myself a couple more off-white hats. Thanks!

Thank you so very much, Tom!!! This lid will get a TON of noggin time this fall/winter. I thought it was always a little weird wearing a white hat in the winter time, but now that I have one to wear, I'm most definitely going to. Its actually light weight enough to wear in the summer, so it might be a 4 season hat.

Great job on that, Josh.

Thank you, Mike!!

Eric, nice looking Cap today, a good alternative to a Hat.

Josh, you have the inspiration and spirit in your fingers. A stunner!

Alan, looks sharp on you, you know I love it if you wear it with brim up!

BEAUTIFUL hats on this fine Tuesday, gentlemen.
Al, what great photos, and nice hats too. That Optimo silver belly is your signature lid, IMHO!
Superb, David.
Eric, that cap looks really comfy-- nice colors in there!
Alan-- I had forgotten about the Borsalino Natalsca, but that is just a shining example of what a great hat should look like!
Josh, the new version of your Buckaroo looks really, really sharp on your head.
An'A! You have pegged your style, dude. Looks great.

TAR Tuesday, Shelby's Fine Fedoras Black Jack Strat....

Nice hat, gtdean. Did Shelby's get consumed by D Bar J? Anyone know whatever happened to jwalls?

I haven't worn this one in a loooooooong time, but today felt like a burgundy day. Though this is a stock photo from when the hat was new. A Buckaroo Hatters shelf hat that I picked up along with the Moorelite fedora.

...Ya know, this color scheme is givin' me ideas for a fedora...:D

Neo, MAN that is a cool hat. Those colors are great. Is the band beaded or hitched?

That is so unfair! A Northener being able to sneak in a straw this late in the year!
Mine are all put away, replaced with the "OK if it gets rained on" hats.

Hi, Um, you live in Seattle. Isn't everyday an "OK if it gets rained on" hat day? I mean, I was up there last year and watched some guys putting on a new roof in the rain.

Alexander - a Burgundy day can only be good!

I agree, and let me say that that 7xCB is incredible!

Alex, sharp color for that hat. I like it!

Thank you, Che. When I went to Major Moore's store for the first time, I tried on a LOT of hats. The burgundy was a tad too tight, but the color drew my eye like nothing else on the shelf :D.

Neo, MAN that is a cool hat. Those colors are great. Is the band beaded or hitched?

Bowlerman, thanks, and I believe the hatband is hitched.

Nope, still just like it came from Black Jack except I added the Stratoliner pin....

Whoops, you're right. I saw the Shelby's Fine Fedoras and I remembered a hat similar to yours. I think now that is was one of JWalls' personal hats. I don't think I've ever seen a side profile of your Black Jack until now. It looks great.

Josh, excellent job on the Buckaroo conversion. You did a great job :eusa_clap.

Alan, that Natalsca looks great. Love the look of that hat's texture.

Bowlerman, awesome montecristi, especially that hatband you made.

AnA great ensemble with that Saks!

Al, thanks for that series of photos. Really cool adventure you went on there, thank you for sharing!

Nice looking hat. You do pretty well with those tall crowns!

Yes, he does. More and more I am thinking that the best way to go in dressy style is sport coat and open-necked shirt. Somehow that's a little more natural with a fedora these days, seems to me, don't know why.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the kind comments. I do enjoy tall crowns. They get me in to all the roller coasters! My general attire is typically a sport / suit coat, dress shirt, jeans, and dress shoes. My wife calls it, "snappy casual". I only wear a tie when I'm wearing a suit. Now I can't get dressed without feeling the need to complete my outfit with a hat. I can now understand why a hat was so fashionable back in the day.

We just finished an 80+ day period of almost no rain (they measured 0.01" about a month ago). and now it is probably 250+ days of high-probability of rain. So the straws come out in summer!
