Sometimes you see a jacket on somebody and think oh that's how this style is meant to work, and damn that is one good fitting longbelt! I don't think it could work nearly as well on my tall and lanky frame.

If the collar is uncomfortable when it's fastened all the way I can fully endorse HD's collar advice. For me I just dipped it in the sink so that the whole thing (in stages) was fully submerged for a few seconds then wore it till dry, making sure to stretch out my neck in all directions for those few hours. After that I never noticed the collar again

Thanks folks, I'm VERY happy considering it's off the rack and I didn't have to wait long to get it. Talk about "instant gratification". Well now I can truly say "I see what all the fuss is about."

1. Fit and finish is excellent.
2. Hides match amazingly well.
3. Built like a friggen tank! Second heaviest coat I own. Just behind the used Ash Carcoat I bought here last year.
4. Unique enough that even my brain daid son asked, "what IS that thing you're wearing?" I had to keep the answer on the "down-low" cause his mother was in ear shot.
5. My first Aero but probably won't be my last.

VERY good question... Of all the Aero designs the 50's Halfbelt and the LHB were the first ones to catch my eye from my first trip to the website. I would've loved to have gotten one BUT, for reasons covered in other threads and other places, I went domestic. Then less than two weeks ago I see this Jacket on the Sale page and figured... "If I don't now... I NEVER will." pulled out the credit card and did the deed. I don't regret it, not one bit but it certainly was more of an impulse buy than a planned acquisition if that's what you're thinking of.

Hey Mr. Coffee - As I tell all my ne'er do well co-workers when they make comments like that... "I need this job for 2 more years then I can retire... stop trying to get me fired."

Worf, you did well. Jacket looks like it was made for you. It takes a real man to wear one that size. Congratulations on a great purchase. Don't expect the next one to be that easy.

You remind me of a bass player I used to know who played for a while with Major Lance's road band back in the day. Because of that gig, he was the only one in this area who knew the correct changes to Monkey Time. Of course he taught the other members in his local band when he came off the road, and everyone in that band then knew them. Every one except the drummer, that is. Like most drummers, he just didn't really didn't care.

Time now to fire up the Pignose and the Orange Crush to A and B them. Haven't had a chance to do that yet.

Thanks again everyone EXCEPT you Crockett (and you know why... you trouble maker you). Yes Schitz, if I had my way I'd would've skiped the cargo and just went with the cleaner lines of the hand warmers which are handy for storing gloves, keys and alike during the winter weather. I alternate between black leather and brown during the work week. When it's really frigid, out comes the Gloverall Toggle or the Ash leather Car Coat. When dashing out quick I use a Woolie A2/G1 I bought from Butte. It's hard to tell you all how this new obsession has changed my dress habits. Puddin' has remarked on it growing suspicion... I've lost weight, started shaving again, actually MATCH my clothes from time to time AND I've taken to stylish leather jackets. But I think she knows it's not another woman, just fine leather.

It's a nice coat with a good color for the leather, maybe I'll join the aero cult someday when I can afford it.
