Here are a few pics showing the scarring I believe the wait was long owing to it being a new model- Ken only approved the 44" chest test jacket earlier this month.

trust me, in comparison that scarring is definitely minimal. On mine it's a real prominent feature of the hide. It looks as though that particular kudu spent his lifetime rolling around in thorny bushes and fighting other kudus. I'll post some pics when I can next week to show you what I mean.

On this topic, I personally feel like I'd either want no scarring at all or lots of it, cos on a jacket with just one or two little scars i reckon they'd feel like unwanted anomalies, imperfections if you will

Yes ****zo I felt the same way, although a lovely jacket and super hide, I have pushed forwards with a modded Pioneer in CX FQHH

I'm not quite sure if we do feel the same way here. I am saying no scarring is great and also that a jacket with lots of scarring would be great. What I wouldn't want is a jacket with just a couple of little scars on; those would stick out like sore thumbs and look like very apparent imperfections in the hide. Whereas if there are quite a few of them it just looks like a characteristic of the hide - in my case one that I find endearing

At the end of the day either kudu or FQHH would be a great choice for your pioneer

And happy, very happy to own it now. I wore it almost daily this spring.... Thanks again buddy!!!! Plenty of compliments on this one! Scarring (mild) gives it character. And NOTHING drapes like cape. To the OP... that jacket looks great. Nice hide... good sleeve length... too warm to wear now though...

I dont think the scarring is even worth to notice, I get more scarring on my FQHH on a weekend with my kids
Take it as an invite to not baby the jacket.

Yep,agreed - exactly right - the wild Kudu just started the wearing in process early, adding some initial patina and allowing me to wear it and enjoy it not coddle it and worry about marking it.

Leather I s a natural product. You can get perfect pleather if it bugs you
Good looking hide to me. I like the variations myself. Never been a fan of perfectly smooth leather jackets.

Me, I know what I like, but when it comes down to it I put my faith in those who make the jackets if they say no don't do it, I say sure what do you suggest.
