Man, y'all are still killing it in the hat department. I'm glad that TFL hasn't slowed down even a bit in the time I've been gone. I'm still waiting for cooler weather here in Sarasota so I can get back into the hat game, but I enjoy lurking here in the meantime. Great hats, great pics, bravo everyone :D.

My early 1960's Dobbs I bought for $8.00 at a local antique mall this spring in Crown Point, Indiana across the street where Dillinger escaped from the Lake County Jail! Having to scrape ice off the windshield this morning I decided to take the Simond's Newsboy Cap off I have been wearing all summer and put a fedora on again!! Feels good!

My new (looks to be '50s vintage) Portis Lite-Wate that I picked up at a local flea market for less than $4. (see my post in "Post New Hats Here" thread for details)

Matt Crunk - a real beauty there - the hilarious part of your post is the 'less than' $4!!

Movin' through sunny Sydney today in my 1924 cap...

Thanks Manfred, ManofKent, SBG, dh66, RBH and DJH

Thanks Orangegrad. You should look into a smaller diameter beret if you like the beret look. They're cheap and come in pretty much any size imaginable. That Christies cap looks good.

Charlie: Nice to see the MacLachlan again!

Howardeye: Nice to see you around here again.

For today: Hairy Selentino

Casehopper that hairy looks right on, especially with the vest!
Great cap Stuffsmith
MattCrunk that score is top shelf. That's a great hat.
Looks good Howardeye. Looking forward to a little more non-straw fedora friendly weather myself.

Bowlerman - love the hairy Selentino. Looks just the ticket for cooler weather.

This VS Black Cherry just arrived. The color - well - it so much depends on the lighting. It's black cherry - but sometimes it's more black, sometimes it's more cherry. Below I have two photos from two cameras. I think it's more the lighting than the cameras, but you can see a bit of the range of colors. I don't have time to do the fedora justice with photos, as this is a very busy time for me at work. The dimensions of this fedora are fantastic - so much reminds me of late '30s style. The felt is quite lightweight, too. Very comfortable fedora. I'm happy.

HatsrMe the knox is a knock-out. I dig the board shirt too. I'm glad you are feeling well enough to be bored.

O.G. The lack cherry is a beauty. So are the luchesses. Your hat & boot still lifes are about to kick things up a little.

Thanks to all who commented yesterday.
Holy moly! A slew of winning lids!

Job, The FP yesterday was really fantastic. I agree that it's a great hat for you!
TJones... :) :) :) lol, black looks good!
Coach, an incredible photo of the bookend generations. My hat is off to your father, and you have a lovely daughter.
Eric, man I love your outdoor shots and unique angles!
Mike, beautiful Black Sheep!
Richard, this cap is absolutely awesome. I wish I could wear those, but I just have a hard time with them, as I look like a Newsie. You look perfectly put together.
Wine-- the Optimo must be sublime-- looks great.
Sam, the french beret and Harry "The Hairy" Selentino look great. Did Harry get a new crease or brushing?
Howardeye, nice Dobbs! and nice to see you around!
Matt Crunk, what a superb Portis.
Stuffsmith, another great cap!
HRme, everyone should have a MacLachlan like that for Monday! Man that is pretty. The Knox is great too, this morning.
Andy, congrats on the new black cherry! It's something to wear proudly!

Apologies if I inadvertently missed anyone.

I'm continuing with my Falcon Park Black Cherry today. It got a good wash yesterday in a downpour, but is good as new this morning.

Andy - you're definitely keeping Art busy! Nice purchase.

Charlie - The Knox looks great. Hope the shoulder heals quickly. Having had major shoulder surgery myself I know how frustrating it can be.

Jeff - the Falcon Park looks great. If a hat won't cope with a good wetting there's not a lot of point in buying it in the UK :)

Cooler today, but not unpleasant. Tawny Fed today. Spot the Japanese Anemones that are growing in the wall:

Out for a hike by the Mississippi River this morning. Rainy and overcast morning. Wearing my Adam Executive kept me styling during the hike and ineviatble getting wet in the cold water chasing the dogs around.

Richard - you and I appear to have similar taste in Fed colors. I think the Tawny is my favorite. I like the tight pinch you have. I've kept mine a wide pinch, and there are times I've considered tightening it up a bit.

Since I've rarely posted in this thread, I couldn't possibly compliment everyone individually so I'll just say, "Wonderful hats Gentlemen!"

I realize this is TAR Tuesday, but I've been itching to wear my new Tawny Fawn Fed IV since I received it last week and, since I had to rise early on this sunny southern California morning to take my wife's car in for repair, I thought I'd show it off a little:

Akubra_Fed_IV_TF_03_zps2c4a2a7a.jpg

As you can see (and as many of you probably already know) the color looks a little different compared to Richard's Tawny Fawn Fed a few posts up; I'd say the colors are reasonably accurate for a photo taken in direct sunlight. And I have to agree with you Andy, the Tawny Fawn has become my favorite.

Charlie, all good wishes for a full and speedy recovery! :yo:

Thanks so much for all the well wishes...
Al(exander) this is the first headshot I've seen with your Fed... it IS the perfect hat for you. Do you ever try giving 'er a slight tilt?

Richard brilliant colors today, and again, I think THAT's your best brim width, IMHO.

Eric the ribbon on your lid today is just incredible! Did you catch the dogs?

Jeff that black cherry looks DELICIOUS. Powerful outfit!

Black cherry IS the ticket today, O-grad. SUPER color!

Sam, today's cap/vest combination are spot on. Just Great!

Bert! Golly, it's good to see your smiling face! Sweet find on the stingy.

Mr. Crunk, you hit the jackpot with the Portis. Splendid find!

StuffSmith you really rock the caps, and that one is SPECIAL!
