I really like the hat Miss Fallon is wearing. Very sharp! (and yours ain't too shabby either, RBH, but then they never are)

We made Rocky's hat about 3 years ago, it is a 5 3/4 crown with a differant Gus that we do, the brim is 4 1/2" wide with a wide bound edge and a pencil curl on the brim, the hat is 100% beaver western weight. He wears this hat every day, very rarely will he not have this hat on, if he does not wear that hat, he wears another one sort of like it we made about 3 years ago also.

He also wears the Pale Rider hat we make, and loves it.

So I happened to drive through a ghost town in Nevada - Virginia City. It turned out to be no so ghosty, but pretty touristy.
and I stumbled upon a hat maker there - Pascal Baboulin. A young frenchman who has been in business for 6 years. He has no web presence, but here is his email: baboulin@me.com (775) 847-9214

A frenchman making western hats in Nevada! That's some pioneering spirit. He must have an interesting story.

How was the quality?

My wife and I were walking around Valparaiso, Chile, and came across this store.

While it didn't look like much from the outside, inside was neat and well stocked, with pleasant sales people.

The next day we found this store.

I have no photos of the inside, as there was room for no one except the sales person and the stock. If you wanted something you stood at the entrance and he waited on you.

While visiting South Florida on vacation, I went to a small hat store in North Miami. It's called Hats and Hats and It has a pretty decent selection of lower end fedoras. I purchased three hats and I will post them in the new hats thread, when it get home. I'm sorry about the quality of the pics, I only took a couple of quick snapshots. If you are in the area, it's worth (IMHO) stopping by. They also clean and re-block hats.

Mostly (if not all) stingys...

To be fair, they did have some decent brimmed fedoras towards the front including one three incher. I tried it on, but the brim was too big for me. (And it was probably too small for you Joao :) ) I really didn't do a good job taking photographs so I missed a portion of their stock

Better some pictures than none.
3" is too small for me ;)

Although I have been to Milan many times, last week was the first time that I actually had time to visit the City centre, so of course had to visit one or two important shops ;)

First of all, the new Borsalino flagship store:

Somewhat smaller than expected from the brand, but as they say, "Quality not quantity"

Next up was Mutinelli. An excellent traditional store, with good, competent personnel.

I didn't leave here empty-handed, or should I say "empty-headed", even if this has another meaning? :) - see the new hats post

Great photos! I had a vintage Homburg made by Dante Mutinelli and I was able to correspond (e-mail) with the current owner (grandson of Dante) Matteo Mutinelli who was very helpful.
