I actually know one of the people they picked last year. I have not had a chance to talk to him since he was on. I am curious to hear about his experience on the show. When I do run into him, I will tell you about it.

I did hear the tv staff are rarely present in the Las Vegas Pawn shop and the store is mainly an outlet now for TV themed merchandise such as Chumlee T shirts and those ridiculously priced 'coins' featuring the shop staff.

It's sort of the entertainment-business equivalent of the pop-up store, or the mall kiosk. Any clear-eyed adult who gives the matter any thought would conclude that these things have their lifespans, which are almost always on the short side. Seems fitting that this would be taking place in Vegas, where the Liberace museum closed down mostly due to lack of paying customers. That pompadour of Liberace's cast a long shadow, such that he remained a hot property for a couple of decades after his death. It is highly doubtful that more than the most peculiarly obsessed will give any thought whatsoever to the cast of Pawn Stars once that show has had its day.

True, but 6 seasons later a huge amount of money has been made - job done - I'm sure it's been more successful than even the producers imagined.

I have never really experienced American, Australian or any other countries TV in any quantities in the past other that what gets imported, so have never had the pleasure (sic) of watching other countries daytime TV. So how does this compare to TV programs of the 1960s-70s for example?

I can just imagine having to explain to kids in the future who ask, " What was Pawn stars all about?" or especially "********* Pawn"
