Purchased this over the weekend and the price was too good to pass up for a pseudo bomber jacket in authentic sheepskin. It is heavy but received the thumbs down from my daughter. Debating on whether to keep it or not. Give me your $.02 ...

If it's built like a B3, then keep it!

If it's a big-store knock-off made in some far away wasteland...give it the boot.

Thanks! The quality is good - from what I can tell. It is Canadian made. Comparable jackets are double and triple the price and it is really warm.

I raised two. What is the age of your daughter, as there are eras during which you can do nothing right... I'm glad there were things about which I held my ground. Bowlerman went through a tough spot a couple of years back; he posted on the "ask a question, get an answer" thread, looking for insight from those who had gone there before him. You like it? My wife's only criteria judging my clothes or hats is "just don't look like a cartoon." Nice jacket. Looks great!

Nice jacket. Looks like a sort of cross between an ANJ4 and a B3.... If you really want an accurate military repro, then it's not the thing and I'd be tempted to hang onto it until you have one of those, then let it go (assuming you don't need to sell to fund that). If, on the other hand, you're happy with a civilian-type jacket that just nods to military style, it's grand.

It is much longer in the body than the original military jackets, which could be an advantage if it is - aslooks from the rear view photo - long enough to fit over a blazer...

As Edward says, it's rather long in the body - and no, it's not accurate to a good repro and you could hold off until a better Irvin/B-3/ANJ-4 turns up, if that's what you'd like.
But that said Vance, IMO it really is a good price at $349 and it would be very useful for outdoor arenas (like spending hours outside watching the NFL or ice hockey if you go) and winter dog walks! At times and places like that, who cares? In the bleak mid-winter, being warm trumps looking cool.

It does look a bit large but the Small was tight and wearing with anything substantial underneath would have been really uncomfortable. The sales person told me they tend to stretch - I did not believe her until I read similar info on the tag. They only had them in stock through the weekend so I felt pressured to purchase.

My daughter is 23 years old and both of my college age/millenials have very specific tastes. I only ask them for entertainment purposes. Everything I wear I get the eyes rolling. I am confident they will come around. It comes from living in Brooklyn!

The jacket looks like a fine, solid rock, I think!

If it's not to heavy-weight, that you can walk kilometres easily, if necessary, then hold on to it! And if it's really nice warming on cold winter, so much the better!

It's the classic lambsfur-jacket, like we Germans name it.

A lot of people here are obsessed with historical accuracy. Personally i don't see anything wrong with this jacket.
It's not accurate, but then if all you want is a cheap sheepskin jacket to stay warm, you just got one.

Vance, taste is a very subjective thing. If YOU like your new jacket, keep it and enjoy it.

Had an uncle (recently deceased) who once tried to tell me that, "...those [fedora, Homburg] hats are just not you." Well, with all due respect: up his late, great, geriatric Irish a***. (And it wasn't as if I either solicited his opinion or asked him to pay my bills!) I determine what is me- no one else. His remark is, I am glad to note, greatly outweighed by the compliments of both men and women who have told me that they like my hats. I don't live for the flattery: I feel better about myself when I'm dressed nice by my taste. But I'd be a damned liar if I said that I don't enjoy the flattery, either.

From your pics, I think that you have acquired a fine jacket that will give you many years of enjoyment.

Snow belt
Lake effect
canyon winds on 9th
Dismal, dismal, wet and cold.
Go for the comfort and warmth, forget historical accuracy
