MythBusters! I don't think any car nut can complain about the car they literally annihilated in this episode, a Yugo!

Dope Sick Love doc.
Heroin: Cape Cod, USA doc.

I don't know why I sat through either one of them in their entirety. I didn't find either one of them very revealing or informative. I don't know what it is like to live on the streets of NYC, but I only had about 1% more of an idea after watching Dope Sick Love. Honestly, they both felt more like morbid voyeurism than anything. Both are available on youtube.

Shameless on ShowTime. Great show with William Macy, bit very very provocative. Involves a very low-class family living in South Side Chicago. Now in it's 6th season, Kevin paralyzed his cranky neighbor who kept revving his motorcycle. He cuts the break line mistaking if for the throttle and the neighbor goes over the top of the car. Next thing we know, the lawyer down the street is getting blamed. So, the neighbor whips up a batch of Molotov Cocktails and rolls down the street to try to burn the lawyer's house down. Kevin reveals the truth, and the neighbor starts tossing cocktails at him. The neighbor inadvertently sets himself on fire, with the box of Molotovs in his lap. Kevin, hilariously, watches with much anxiety as his neighbor rolls around in circles in his motorized wheelchair set on fire. At the end of the scene, Kevin is 10ft away from the flaming wheelchair, and gives a half-hearted kind of "blow" as if he were blowing out a birthday candle.

Oh, and the Gallaghers lost their house trying to buy it at auction. Kinda interested in seeing what happens when the new owners meet Frank Gallagher (William Macy).

Yesterday we watched episode 10 of "The Man in the High Castle." This is - so far - one of the best things ever done on TV. The style is fantastic, the story is interesting, different and complex, but not - as some shows seem to do - so complex as to become either impossible to follow or too difficult to be worth it, the characters are three dimensional, the acting is solid and each episode is better than the one before it and you don't believe it is possible that they can keep upping their game, but they do. I have two episodes left this season, then I'm going to read "The Man in the High Castle" thread to see what everyone else thinks, but so far, I am beyond impressed with this show.

The latest installment of Downton Abbey. Again, no spoilers, but there is a shocking surprise late in the story.

My prediction, and you read it here first, is that Mary and Tom are going to wind up as a couple.

I agree completely, it feels like they've been setting that up from even before he went away, Mary and he were forming a bond / a connection that was very close and personal last season.

Did anyone else watch Making a Murderer on Netflix? There has been a lot of press on this documentary.
It is a fascinating look at how the justice system works.. and sometimes doesn't work.

I really don't see it. They have a friendly brother/sister relationship and zero heat. Whereas Matthew Goode is an actual MOVIE ACTOR, and thus a fit consort for Mary.

And re the shocking surprise, they've been telegraphing it for weeks. But I agree that is was a quite a MOMENT!

Have to agree with everyone else on the shocking moment on Downton Abbey! I'm pretty sure I gasped in surprise and horror. Definitely was not expecting it!

Good episode, though. I don't think that Mary and Tom are going to get together - I, too, think they have more of a brother and sister relationship. And Mary is such the opposite of Sybil - Sybil was full of love and warmth whereas Mary continues to be cold and aloof. I think Tom wants someone like Sybil.

I have it on good authority (from a cast member!) that they are going to begin filming the second season in March. I cannot wait.

Oh, I don't know how Fellowes is going to turn it. True, Mary literally told Tom in a recent episode, "You're my brother." And I agree that Mary, except with Anna, is a difficult, cool little fish (if there's one character among the DA people I can't warm to, it's her). But bringing Tom back from America -- I couldn't figure out why, unless Fellowes has some plan for them.

We're at the finale of (I think) series 6 of Ru Paul's Drag Race. I've really gotten caught up in it. I love the creativity on show. Ru Paul's presentation of himself is also fascinating - flawless when he presents in drag, of course, but when he appears as a man, his clothing is beautifully tailored, wonderfully turned out. Interestin,g as I've certainly known a few drag queens who look wodnerful as ladies, but make an unbelievable lack of effort as men!

The "shocking surprise" was only a surprise in how graphic it was. Mary and Tom? Marry your sister-in-law who's the exact opposite of the woman you loved. Sybil.... voluptuous, energetic, loving, sexy, daring and kind.... Mary, evil, cold, villainous, duplicitous, boney and flat as a board!!!!! Every man Mary touches either winds up dead as a door nail or unhappy as hell. Tom's watched Mary work her mojo close up and personal. You think he wants anything to do with THAT? As the kids say... "c'mon man!"

Oh, I'll agree about Mary (except "evil" and "villainous" might be a little over the top!). But I have a sneaking suspicion that Fellowes may bend things that way, whether or not it makes sense for the characters as previously portrayed.

Yes, they did foreshadow the "surprise." But the actual event was indeed shockingly graphic.
