That's a beauty! Do you have any more pics to post? What size are you? I haven't seen a huge amount of LW fit pics compared to Aero etc. that jacket really appeals. Lovely stuff.

Dunno, almost nobody here keeps/wears a jacket long enough to give it character. Let's be real, there's more pics by far of guys new jackets than guys 5/10/15+ year old jackets with lots of wear.
Maybe that's why. Hence I'm on a tear to actually do just that for a while.

Wilbur, I always enjoy your posts. You really do have a great collection of jackets. I've always been curious since you posted about you trip out to Colorado...Did you make that ride completely on your own? I love to ride, but not sure I would be up to doing a trip like that all by myself. Must have been quite an adventure. I've got to get an LW jacket. That's one I'm missing in my own collection. Just need to decide which one. I am kinda leaning toward the Trojan.

Yes rode out on my own which I prefer unless of course the wife wants to ride. I can change around routes as well as speed up or slow down pending on my mood. I also meet a lot more people that way. Honestly when you drive across this country the people you run into always give one interesting stories to remember. The Trojan is a great jacket but is short like the early 50's which I like as it doesn't ride up.

Does this mean you have black AND brown? Unreal. I'm a 48 too. Some of the LW stuff seems trim in the shoulders/ chest compared to other brands. It looks good on you though. Are they stock 48 sizing?

Yep, picked up a russet one, and I liked it so much that I got a black one too. However, I chose Stuart's lighter hh for the black one. They're both a standard 48. Stuart's usually dead on balls accurate with his measuring -- give em' a call.

Yes, I have found that Stuart picks the correct size for me every time.

bunyip, some of his jackets have a trimmer cut, those are the ones that can be troublesome in the shoulders area.

His descriptions will tell you which ones those are.

Ryder for example is trim. The Easy Ryder not so much.

I looked at his J-23 at one stage and he said I would be a 50. That meant a 20% surcharge which tipped it over the edge for me. The exchange rate is less than kind, and it all escalates so quickly. I really do hope to own a LW one day. They look ****** proof and exceptionally well made.

I feel compelled to comment on this even if it's an old thread.
First off, my LW J23 is my favorite jacket, and I like the Easy Ryder too; the J23 I wear several times a week when the weather's right. It's a fantastic jacket in every regard.
However, Stuart's "sizing" process was painful. He refused to furnish any measurements of his J23 in the sizes I was asking about, anything that would help in determining which size to order outside of vague verbal hints.
Based on my (quite detailed) measurements and photos he first suggested a 40 and even 42. Now, I'm quite slim built and V-shaped and usually wear 38 with motorcycle jackets, and was afraid that he was trying to err on the large side, not believing my measurements, or whatever. This turned out correct. Eventually he suggested a 38 if I "want a real trim fit". I opted for that, albeit with custom sleeve length. It's still a little on the large side; I had a tailor trim the waist area a bit, and it could be a bit shorter, especially when I'm seated. The size is perfectly ok great for walking but wouldn't be great for riding.

Most of the time I just enjoy my jacket, but reading something like the above I still wonder why it had to be this way; what he gains from it.
