Thank you Rodolfo!

Thank you, love.
Polar bear, no. Arctic Fox, maybe ;)

And you know how I feel about jackets.
Don't make me say I told you so.
And buy one with less pockets old man.
;)

Now that is a bold statement! You will be turning heads with this wonderful hat. "Who was that movie star!!"
Ha! Poor movie!
Thank you though.
That wide brim rocks!
Thank you Rick.

Thank you, ma'am.

Yours... Well... A real beauty as always. Glamorous.

Even on saturday no one is slumming it here, great hats from all again. Today was a two hat day, started off wearing the same borsalino as yesterday...

...but then decided it just wouldn't do to be so boring as to wear the same hat two days in a row, so decided on something a bit more whimsical

Happy weekend everybody!

Absolutely love that hat & brooch, you look stunning! Reminds me there was a fashion back at the start of the 20th century for women's hats with actual whole dead birds attached to them. George Bernhard Shaw wrote a grumpy letter about it to the Royal Opera House, which is a very entertaining read: http://www.lettersofnote.com/2012/05/spectacle-sickened-me.html

Yes it's too bad they didn't focus more on production but I doubt they have anyone that knows much about the past history or cares to look into it in detail.

The German Hat Musuem in Lindenberg, Germany (Mayser Hats is headquartered there) is more production oriented so probably worth taking a look at if you are ever in the area.

Your point about not being able to see the inside of the hats is a big problem for people like us that collect and wear hats. Luckily the hat museum at the Gotisches Haus (Gothic House) Hat Museum, Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany allowed me to go through the men's hats in their archives and also photo document the hats. I was also able to look through their library and photo documents of interest. This museum has been a great resource to me. I still have a back log of documents I need to post on my website.

I also visited the hat museum at the Nový Jičín (was Neutitschein, Austria prior to WWI) City Museum in Moravia, Czechia (this was Austrian Velour center with JHS (now TONAK), AP and BB). They have about 6000 hats in their archives which I wasn't able to see but the curator gave me many great photos which are posted on my website. Since my visit they opened an additional museum that is dedicated to the production of hats.

There is also Frech Hüte in Wien.

Collins Salzburg - Wien made hats up until around 2010. There is still production information on their website. Their hat maker worked at P. & C. Habig Wien and supposedly they have some of the old P. & C. Habig hat forms. I have no idea if they still have all this equipment / machines.

Thank you for the links, the hat museums in Lindenberg and Bad Homburg are definitely on the list of places to visit. The museum in the Czech Republic looks very interesting as well. How amazing that you had the opportunity to go through the archives in Homburg, that must have been really exciting!

I didn't know (or had forgotten) about Frech Hüte in Vienna, thank you for pointing them out. I see they are a bit further out of town, so I probably wouldn't have had the chance to go there when I was in Vienna, but something for next time maybe. They have some nice looking hats in their catalogue... I did see the Collins shop in Vienna in the subway at the Opera Metro station.

l love this look Michael! If you do go out, don't cover it up...unless you have a bright red overcoat. I'm sitting here thinking...what will he be sporting on St. Paddy's day, an equally cool outfit in Kelly Green?

I don't know Red, I think it needs more color. Maybe add something like this to the lower unit?

For St Paddy's maybe you are thinking of something like this?

One of the funniest letters from a dissatisfied patron of all time.

It has inspired me to get a snake, some black beetles and a grouse.

Thanks for the fun.

This thread is exploding with posts these days - such great hats.

Thanks to everyone who commented or liked in my BSHW from Thursday.

Charlie - yes, it has an underwelt brim.

Yesterday I wore my Adventurebilt

And this morning a lightweight Cordova cap (bit windy for fedora today)

I've been enjoying the mid 70's temperatures the last couple of days - forecast to drop by 50 degrees over the next 12 hours as nasty arctic air moves in.

Cheers!

Today is the debut of my Moon care package 2016! A modern Stetson Stratoliner, Excellent (Bill and Ted approved) quality. Sage green, soft and supple and with a Ant diamond bash. It will be getting a lot of head time. We have a whole day of events to go to today, and this hat will be my statement for the season.

I'll be posting a full review in the new hat thread. Hard to be objective right now, I'm still in the honeymoon phase of this beauty. Thanks Moon!
