Today's hat, in need of some crown reblocking to give it back it's roundness (has been mistreated for a decade I'm afraid):

Most of my hats come from European sources. This style hat was made for the American market. I actually have an earlier one from JHS that is higher quality. I compared the two a while back if you want to take a look.

Here is another JHS that belongs to RLK (Robert) that has amazing hat collection.

Thank you for those links, beautiful hats. The condition of that 1930s black velour is astounding! Interesting to see European hats made specifically for the American market.

Awwwwww!!!! LOVE the ribbon roses hat, you must post more pictures!
Here's another picture of just the hat:
View media item 1144It's lined with a red silk twill, with a gold, blue and purple oriental inspired floral motif. I tried to take a close up picture of it, but the colours just look dull and the fabric course compared to the real thing:

I'd wear that hat in an instant, even without reblocking! What kind of felt is it?

Two of my kids wanted to get the Matador school classes, now I kind of understand my mom.

I tried to talk them out of the idea but couldnt....what the heck....got to bit the bullet.

Merry Christmas Matt #!!

As a parent, that's sobering stuff. I certainly understand why you would be so touched by the chapel and other parts of the matador's way to the arena.

A very merry Christmas to you and your family, Rodolfo.

Peace.
