Leather jacket alterations - UK. Advice needed

Hi all, especially UK members.

Need a bit of advice. Does anyone know where I might get alterations done on a leather jacket in the UK?

I have picked up a rather nice Aero Highwayman in a medium weight leather, hardly worn. It is quite a large one, like me! Fits nicely in the body but has shoulders like tallboys! They are huge and the shoulder seams come a fairway down from my shoulder.

Can anyone recommend someone who might be able to take the shoulders in for me? Does Aero do that even?

That's a major operation. I wouldn't recommend it even on a sportcoat.

A picture might help see the problem and we could recommend if it's really worth your time and money to alter that.

That's a good idea Willyto. Just tried. Too dark and all I get is flash! Will try again in the morning.

I have just put it up against an old leather jacket of mine which fits well and measured the difference. The Aero shoulder seam is 4 inches (10cm) longer on each side!

There's no way to alter that without ruining the jacket. Waiting for the picture but I'm afraid you're going to have to sell it

You are probably all right about selling it! The fit could be a little tighter, even for me but I prefer a loose jacket for layering but those shoulders! Looks like I still have a large coat hanger in there when I wear it!

Such a shame as it's a lovely jacket
