What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

In keeping with the Straw theme of the day, I took the Dobbs Boater for a spin. I tried to make the sunshine come out on this grey morning, but the sun is being stubborn today. In homage to my OSU Beavers, the #1 College Baseball team this year (going to the college world series...my prediction!) I added a vintage Benny Beaver pin. This is the classic 1950s Benny with the sailor cap like I posted a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks Red. The look was the only thing cool about yesterday. It got up to 91, which is somewhat outside my comfort zone. Great boater that you were sporting. It inspired me.

A couple of degrees cooler today. A no name Italian made boater will accompany me on a return trip to the Arts Festival,

Good morning. In this mornings 60'F weather I choose a straw. The choice was made as I expect the duration of my chores will continue until it is forecast to be nearly 80' F. A straw Shudde Brothers, Houston, TX hat with vents is my chore hat today. Turned down brim in back works to keep the sun off my neck when I shed my fleece sometime soon. The hat has been dunked into a pail of cool water and shows little wear and tear from the single episode. The work hat designation for this hat means I use a synthetic pug that can withstand the rigors of use. I find the full thickness leather sweat to be very comfortable during hot chores. I can not verify that the metal grommets provide more venting. Maybe is my answer.

This hat cleans up, wears well and is durable. Great hat for an early June Sunday morning.

I've only seen advertisements. I seem to remember someone on the Lounge posting one. When I speak of building a custom around a whip stitch, this may be an option for a clone, in baby blue (?). This is dangerous, I'm going down to Mike's tomorrow, may come home with a new creation in the queue!

A simple whipstitch can be added to the brim of any hat. It doesn't need a "full custom built around it."

Alas, the conundrum between "need" and "want" rears it's ugly head!

Even your chore hats that get abuse are stunning Eric. Don't you have an old dirty baseball cap you could wear for this activity. It would bring you closer to Bubba status
