Need boot ideas

With winter setting in, I need a good pair of boots that can handle the elements but work with business casual dress at work. I typically wear nice dark jeans and a dress shirt. Love my iron rangers but they have a very slippery sole and just aren’t quite dressy enough.

Would love to find a high quality boot with wingtip or other styling...

Let me know your thoughts!

It depends a bit on the budget but assuming an average one I would check out Meermin. In the same price range also Loake but I think meermin is more value for money.

Trickers are very good but their lasts are on the bulky side so less formal.

Iron Rangers now come with the Vibram 430 sole, so quite an improvement.

As for Tricker's, if you can get a Stowe boot with Vibram-like commando soles, they cover all bases, being smart, casual and practical. These treads have more than twice the thickness of the 430s.

If you can get:

Lightweight, mid-cut, versatile. Half price on storebrands.

No offence but these might good for hiking and.... nothing else. Definitely not an option for any sort of office/city wear. You should get fined if wearing these to the office ;)

RM williams Gardener, Gammon or Lachlan/Drover boots and a tin of their saddle dressing will see you right.

So many great options, so little time and money!

LOVE the Trickers... the AE Dalton’s are great as well, but I’d have to replace the sole right away. Snow, salt and leather soles do not enjoy each other.

It doesn’t sound as if you really need boots to wear IN the office, more too and from. When I think of winter boots, I’m thinking insulated, waterproof etc. That rarely translates into fashionable enough for office wear.

Try checking out White's. Semi-dress are amazing. I wear them, along with Red Wing Iron Rangers in the summer months to a professional office everyday, and never feel out of place. I rarely, if ever wear dress shoes.
