WOW! That is one nice Highwayman. Vicenza makes a great jacket.
the vicenza is so damn comfortable, and seems to drape beautifully. I am sure the heavy duty hide drapes after broken in a lot, but damn it's iron when new.

I've never had a new jacket stretch ( what do you think would make it stretch or lengthen ). Just the opposite..it will slightly shorten when molding to your body or wrinkling with wear. Weather can also cause it to shrink somewhat.

I’ve had luck getting jackets damp and pulling on the sleeves, and hem to stretch them.

as long as you pull it evenly, can result in wavy hemline if not careful I imagine, and while the leather might stretch a bit the stitches and zip will not, so you might have looser seams or break a stitching.

I had a success with goat that is somewhat too snug on my hip, and now it fits better and less wrinkly on the back, but I don't pull it, I just wear it while wet over the stuffiest pants plus the chunkiest belt I have, and let it dry on me.

Yeah, I am in total ignorance of how to do things. I have of course been tutored by very kind folks as yourself on TFL. However, I have really been just messing around and messing some stuff up. Mostly on my cheap stuff. Although I may have precipitated the need for a zipper replacement on The Beast. My Hercules CXL steerhide brown shearling lined/alpaca.
But, Al at JL said that the zipper that Aero specified would never have worked on such a heavy jacket. He wasn't bad mouthing Aero, just speaking from his experience. He put in a #10 Talon and aligned it with the original stitch holes. My guess is it would have failed even if I had not been messing with it.
But How knows? It works now!

Cheers!

Correction. It was a YKK. I am not a purist by any means. I don’t think this Zipper will ever fail. Al does good work!
