Hell...I don’t know where to post these any more.

Went to the annual craft festival where The Quiet Lady shows/sells her beadwork. She said that she had taken the year off to care for her ailing brother, so the selection was from her older stock. I still came away with three new hat bands. All glass beads...

If you are still not sure, sorry it's a no.

Ouch! No punches pulled there. :)
I think you’re probable right, but I like the hats and I like the sun protection, and they are plentiful and inexpensive on the secondary market, but I’m still not comfortable with how I look wearing them. I get that you don’t have that issue :)

I’m not ready to give up yet, but I do appreciate your direct and non-nuanced answer; uncommon these days.

I’ve tried western hats a few times and I always like the way they look but I don’t like how I look in them. Today I decided to wear my recent acquisition Resistol 4X that I converted to a Gus and gave a kettle curl. Still not sure it’s me.

I think it looks good Brent. Of course, I'm a fan of the style. As a personal preference, I wouldn't wear one because it's a little too western for folks where I'm from. But trust me, if I could get away with it, I would. I wonder that if you tried a lighter color if you would feel more comfortable wearing it. Black can be a bold color (outside of hot pink), especially on a bold looking hat. Just my two cents!

I’ve also tried westerns in silverbelly, sandstone, brown, etc. and they all seem a bit hard to pull off. I do like wide brim fedoras and outdoors hats. It’s just the pure westerns that give me trouble. I’m going to keep trying as there is a lot to like with westerns and the sun protection is great.

I like to dress a shirt, necktie and a suit (double breasted) but it's not me, so I don't do it (only forced on weddings).
I prefer to keep my cowboy hat.

Cowboy hats are not common were I live. At all. Well last year in the summer I've seen a lot of straw cowboyish hats but as soon as it ended, all hats vanished.
I wear western hats and I don't give a damm of what others may think. I hear them with bad mouth against my hats but if those people knew what I think of them, I'd probably be killed in a zap. xD
